  Doug has a great ear, reasonable rates and makes recordings that sound terrific. I decided to go with Satellite Sounds after hearing both his rock and classical recordings, as I knew I'd need someone with an ear for both to pull off my two singles. We had a great recording session - very efficient and professional, and the follow up mixing/mastering sessions demonstrated his skill and sensitivity to the sound I was looking to create. Doug's an asset to the New Haven music scene, and I look forward to working with him in the future.

  Dough came highly recommended to me by another musician and now it is my pleasure to recommend him to others! Not only is Doug a highly-skilled professional with a very good ear, he is incredibly patient, easy-going, open-minded, supportive and flexible. When I started recording with Doug, I was mostly focused on the final result, which I was ultimately very pleased with. However, the experience is about the journey as well as the destination and, through working with Doug, I was able to thoroughly enjoy the journey. My songs evolved even more during the process and I had such a wonderful time. He is gifted, professional, knowledgeable, patient, and kind-I couldn't recommend him more highly!

  Satellite Sounds recorded our early music trio CD on location (in a church), and also mixed and mastered all tracks. We found Doug to be a good communicator, very patient, technically skilled, and sympathetic to our musical intentions. He has an excellent ear for sound quality, yet deferred to our tastes and sensibilities. I would recommend him to all classical or early music performers without question!

  It's hard to find someone who is universally easy to work with AND knowledgeable. Doug at Satellite sounds has both. Yet his greatest asset, and what sets him apart from all the other studios is his mobility. There's nothing quite like recording in your rehearsal space (where you feel most at home) or in some other beautiful sounding space that wasn't designed for recording. There are no plugins in the world that can replace that, though he has quite a lot of plugins too. He will always remain on my utility belt as the most reliable mobile studio I have.

  Satellite Sounds Recording rocks! Doug is patient, professional, polite, and truly wonderful. He helps you sound your best and achieves the best final product possible. I would highly recommend him to anyone who is interested in capturing a great recording.
