Amazingly beautiful, historic church. I wish we could have gone inside to see more of the church, but there was a wedding going in and unlike many others, we weren't going to walk in to gawk at the church and interrupt the wedding. Stay for the light show if you can set night. Many homeless in the area, since it is very touristy.

I can't believe I missed out on this landmark all the previous times I went to San Antonio. On this particular weekend, I made it a goal to visit this spot. We were super lucky because it happened that Fiesta Fiesta was hosting a night market right at the base of the Cathedral. In addition to it being a beautiful place, we got the bonus of celebrating with thousands of people.

Well the plaza in front of San Fernando Cathedral is just perfectly situated to capture a endless variety of scenes the no doubt inspires the imagination and the newly revitalizing of San Fernando Cathedral Plaza. This picture was taken after a thunderstorm came rushing through in the night and cleared the skies in the early morning hours The scene from this vantage point is breathtaking and spiritual.

My grandma used to go to this church in the early 1920's! I love this cathedral and it's beautiful inside and out. There is a light show called The Saga which tells a story of San Antonio using light and images and sounds. The show lasts around 30 minutes and starts around 9pm. I don't remember what days but you can find that information out on Google. There are small bistro tables nearby and some food trucks and eateries. Also located near the Riverwalk. If you love to walk and want to see the sights in downtown San Antonio make sure to stop by the cathedral.

This historic Cathedral is a recommended visit when in the area which is an icon for tourists to learn the rich heritage. It is a church so be very quiet as they still have mass and other programs going on when visitors arrive. It has been very well maintained over the years and be sure to read the plaques in display for fun historical facts and information.
