  I went here twice for a blowout in the last few weeks. This is my first review ever only to commend this establishment. Ronen is an incredible stylist who leaves my hair very soft, straight, and healthy. He's also a great guy for a conversation. I feel compelled to share my type of hair. I have a unique type of heavy, SUPER curly hair. I do a blowout every week (seasonal) to straighten my hair. Most stylists either burn my ends or take TWO hours to blow dry it. It takes a very talented hair stylist to do my hair under a reasonable time frame. I highly recommend this place!!🙂

  Javier is a fantastic barber- friendly, skilled, accommodating, and he cut my hair exactly how I asked for. It looks better than any other haircut I’ve gotten.

  Salon 601 is probably the most unprofessional establishment on the Broadway strip. I happened upon their shop in hopes of a decent haircut, instead I experienced an absolute nightmare. When I walked into the salon there was NO ONE THERE. I found it quite strange because it was Saturday afternoon, which is usually busy time for most successful salons. The owner, Ronen, was on his laptop and his two employees were sitting idly focusing on there phones. He spoke to me very gruffly only saying “haircut 42 dollars.” I attempted to tell him how I preferred my hair trimmed and he completely ignored my request. To be honest he had the worst case of Napoleon Complex I’d ever come across in a little man oh his stature. It was also uncomfortable to be in the setting because of how he addressed his employees with great disrespect. As a few clients came in, Ronen attempted to tell Javier and Luma how they should style their hair. Even though it was clear that they were much more talented and experienced hair stylists than him. I walked out of that salon with a buzz cut that made me look like I’d just gotten out of prison. I am so angry at them and have even thought about ways of taking legal action to end their business. However, I remembered that Salon 601 is currently located where the salon Jude & Me used to be. Just like it’s predecessor, Salon 601 will soon be out of business. There is no way that such a mediocre shop can last on such an industrialized street. Please don’t make the mistake I made when going here. Instead, take your money to Aveda on 114th and Broadway. They will provide you with satisfactory hair styling and great professionalism.

  After having a disastrous hair cut at Eden Salon, I went today at salon 601 for a hair cut after reading Javier's amazing reviews. Javier is just an amazing stylist! He did the best hair cut I ever had! I am so happy! I strongly recommend him! I will definitely be back!

  Salon 601 is a very nice place but a lot better since Javier started working there. He has been cutting my hair and doing my highlights for several years now and every person who meets him never goes back to any other hair salon. His work is superb and the prices are a lot better than in other places in NY. He used to work somewhere else and now is working in this much nicer spot. I would def. recommend him!
