  My wife and I just enjoyed our 28th anniversary and celebrated with a dinner at Ruth's Chris. We have eaten at Ruth's Chris numerous times, usually for our anniversary, and have always been delighted. Unfortunately this time we got a Filet that was not a melt in your mouth experience we have come to identify with Ruth's Chris. It was a tougher and had too much stringiness in the meat. Bottom line, the main item wasn't up to Ruth's Chris normal standard. That's tough to swallow when you pay top dollar for a special meal.

  What happened? Called them two hours before I went to see if there's seat available. "The restaurant might be full but we can put you in lounge", I said that's ok. When I arrived they said "You requested for the lounge area right?", and I answered "Well unless there's room in the restaurant." The lady then said "Oh there's dress code so you'll have to go sit in the lounge area." If there's no seat just say so, no need to put it like there's room but you aren't dressed well enough for that. The waiter looked pissed off the whole time, taking the order like he couldn't care less. So not surprised when he messed up the order and gave us the wrong dessert. We said don't worry we'll just have it taken home. Went home and opened the box: looked like they just found a box that isn't even big enough and just threw it in there... Used to be my favorite restaurant and once went there three times in two weeks, simply disappointed.

  The service was terrible. It was a slow Thursday night. We had to ask another waiter to remove extra glasses from our table. For a $51 fillet I expect it to be cooked properly. I was going to send it back but by the time the waitress came back, my friends were half way done with their meals. So wasn't going to waste more time.

  Great location downtown. The cuts are excellent and cooked well. Side dishes are good too. To avoid waiting time, I recommend on going when its not too busy.

  I have eaten at several steak houses of this caliber. I am giving Ruth's 5 stars not only for the service but the way that they serve the steak. It comes on a sizzling 500 degree plate with seasoned butter waiting for you to dip your prime steak in before enjoying the perfectly seared piece of steak. The whole experience is one that will be remembered for a long time.
