::Similar to other customers, he wouldn't allow me to use vivino to check wine reviews and prices. And refused to give an answer as to why. Makes you think about whether or not their prices are fair. If only there was a convenient app to use which would give me the answer to that question...

::Guy who sells wine here did not allow me to use Vivino application in this shop. Looks like he is not interested in independent check of his staff.

::Good place for a quick stop on the way home, convenient to the west side 14th St. stations.

::Very helpful with California wines such as Shafer.

::If you want to be entirely insulted this is the wineshop for you. I have been to Rose Wines several times before, and stopped there on the way home today from the neighborhood dog park. I am having family over and thought one more bottle of red wine was necessary. First of all, I picked up a bottle of red that didn't have which type of wine it was written on the bottle, so i asked the clerk and he shrugged and said "all i know is that it's red." I picked one of the $8.99 bottles from the middle of the store and proceeded to check out. The man asked for my ID which was fine, I am 24 and that isn't unusual, I am originally from Boston, so my license is from Massachusetts. At this point he had my ID and my debit card in his hand, and then asked for another form of ID. All I had was an expired ID from when I lived in Spain, 3 years ago. He told me he was going to take me the police because he believed my ID to be fake. He said he had never seen a Massachusetts ID like mine.... Well if that's the case then he is not fit to work at a liquor store, because this is the current and official Massachusetts ID. I understand the right to question an ID, but there was absolutely nothing wrong with mine. I gave him 2 separate forms of proof that it was in fact an authentic ID--- and he clearly had no idea what he was doing. I will NEVER go back there again. If you want a fabulous wine shop in the neighborhood go to Best Cellars on 80th and Broadway... friendly, know their products, and don't insult their customers.
