  Dr blumenfeld makes me wonder why others hate going to the dentist. he explains everything he is doing as he goes along and has a very friendly comforting demeanor. and instead of a big painful shot of nova cain if needed. he takes the time to numb surface and do shot in intervals so feel no pain :)

  Growing up, I never had tooth pain, yet every time I visited this dentist, I was told I had cavities in my molars until I needed to get a crown. Before getting the crown, I was advised that I'd need a root canal, which I still haven't needed to this day (over 10 years). After arguing back and forth, he agreed just to use a crown, and the root canal was never needed. While going to this Dr. Blumenfeld, I consistently asked if there was a way that I could get yellow spots removed from my teeth, and I was told that only if I spent thousands of dollars (each) on veneers, could I solve the problem. This would have required grinding off the front of my teeth which is an irreversable procedure, and would also require maintenance for the rest of my life to have them replaced every few years. In getting the crown replaced by my new dentist, he asked me when I got my braces off. When I told him 1996, he asked me why my previous dentist never buffed off the braces cement from my teeth. He proceeded to remove the cement in 30 seconds with a buffer and solved the problem. So this discoloration problem had nothing to do with my teeth whatsoever, and was a simple procedure which he did for no extra charge. After being self conscious about my teeth for 20 years, I now get complemented on how white they are. If I were you, I wouldn't go to this dentist under any circumstances. He was always pushing large procedures (veneers, root canals, etc.) that are unneeded and which are all measures which he would profit off of greatly. If you want a dentist who is interested in your health and well being, this is not the guy for you.

  I have been going to Dr. Blumenfeld for a while and have always been very happy with his work. But it wasn't until I recommended a friend to go that I realized how great Dr. B is. My friend told me that he usually experiences a lot of pain and discomfort when going to the dentist and that is how he thought all dentists were. He could not believe that there was a thing as a gentle dentist that focuses as much on making the patient comfortable and pain free as opposed to just rushing through the work.
