We didn't want to like Retreat. It looked like it was going to be small and always crowded and one time it was closed early on a holiday when it was supposed to be open. I guess we didn't go here for so long because we were still unreasonably bitter about that one experience. As it turns out, this place is pleasantly larger on the inside than it would seem. The decor and atmosphere are hip and cozy. The food was delicious, and the cocktails were delightfully intricate. We had no idea what our drinks would be like when we ordered them, but they were always tasty. These people know their liquor. Ask for Colleen, she is a superb server. She was so attentive, easy to talk to, and she seriously knows the menu like the back of her hand. For real, one of our friends has some very complicated dietary restrictions, and Colleen rocked that challenge without having to "ask the kitchen" even once. Highly recommend!

Retreat has a simple menu, but the food is all wonderful. They're very vegetarian friendly and have the best Impossible burger in town. Their brunch is pretty great too.

Best gluten free burger I have ever had! They actually have a good gluten free bun and many other good gluten free options. Their truffle fries are definitely worth the extra $2, very unique and super tasty!

Pork toast for the win! A great Moscow mule and cocktails as well. Good for happy hours. Love the atmosphere of this place and the staff is wonderful.

We had brunch here today and it was simply incredible. Everything was deliciously wonderful. My wife doesn't drink and was thrilled about the speciality non alcoholic coffee drinks (as was I) The cold fashioned and cold brew and tonic were much better than we expected. The poutine was outstanding along with my side of a fried chicken biscuit. It might have been the best fried chicken I've ever had. Her meal was salmon cakes and eggs Benedict which she loved as much as I loved mine. Highly recommend this spot!
