  I have to thank Gwen. I finally decided that I needed to replace my extended trip pack and I put her through hell hiking around the store complaining about rub spots until I finally found a pack that would work for me. Thanks Gwen for taking the time to find the right fit. I'll be thanking you for years to come when I'm at mile 27 of that 53 mile trek.

  Incredible experience in a unique space. Great shopping, yes, but REI staff also know their stuff and are amond the most helpful in retail. I love the decor and the nods to local DC history in that cool building.

  Nice people. Spent a lot of time helping my girlfriend understand various bikes. Once she had one or two she liked she test ride them for 15 minutes on a nearby bike trail (protected path, no cars). Took the time to install her bike rack. When we noticed the rack wasn't level they adjusted it for free.

  Greeted at the door. Friendly and helpful staff. Bicycle service rates very reasonable. Much lower than most of the new specialty bike stores in town.

  What's not to love? Super convenient location, you can try out gear, and pick the brains of the friendly and knowledgeable staff. Even if you're not looking to buy something specific, the store is large and varied enough you can spend an hour or so just wandering around.
