I've been using Reed Auto for 6 years after a particularly bad experience with Toyota. He's worked on 3 of the family cars plus the cars of countless friends. He's expedient, fair, and is always willing to explain the options for repair (long term or short term). Dropping off boyfriend's car at this very moment!

[WARNING] Joe Reed, owner of Reed Auto Service is a crook. I took my car in because it had a check engine light. He charged me $250 to replace a hose and a the intake manifold gasket. The next day the check engine light came back on. I took it back to him and he said that it was a different problem and was going to charge me another $250 to fix it. I gave him the opportunity to fix it. He refused to fix it saying that it was already fixed even though the check engine light was still on. It took it to another mechanic and he told me that instead of putting the right gasket on he siliconed it. I called him back and told him that he needed to refund me for the portion of changing the gasket when all he did was siliconed it. He said that he wasn't going to do anything more. Oh and don't let the cars in the front of his shop fool you to make you think that he's busy. Those cars all belong to him. His work is actually done in the back of the building. UPDATE: I got the car back from another mechanic who actually fixed the car for $150 with parts and labor. He gave me the egr tube that had a hole on one part of the tube. He showed me how Joe Reed put silicone on the whole of the egr tube and wrapped it with electrical tape. Joe Reed purposely didn't fix the piece so that he could charge me the extra $250 to get back down in there and (really) fix the problem that he should have fixed when I initially brought it in when I initially paid him the $250.
