  For the 5 yrs this bakery has been opened I’ve had nothing but great experiences & memories!!! Cakes are delicious and the attention to detail on each and every cake and pastry is superb!!!! I definitely recommend!!!

  First let me start off by saying I don't ever publicly give poor ratings on a company. I either keep it to myself or simply share it privately with family/friends. Being that this is out of the norm for me I should say I have never encountered something like this. I spoke with the owner last Thursday and scheduled an appointment for today (1/30/18). I requested a birthday cake to be done for my 5 year old. He explained the store was going to have its grand re-opening the Saturday before and if he had a cake available I could sample it. I was already very familiar with Dominican style cakes as my ex- mil makes them (in Florida). I showed up at 10:32am on the day of my appointment. The open sign wasn't turned on, door was locked, no lights were on inside, and it looked like no one had even been there. The sign on the door said they opened at 10am. I called the number I had reached him through days before and got a voicemail. I left a message and said I'd wait around for a bit. No immediate call back nor did I get a call throughout the day. I just don't understand how you can run a business, pay Norwalk retail rents and flake on appointments with new customers. Even if I should get a call at some point in the next day or so I would not give this man my business as it speaks volumes of his character. Thank anyway but I took my business elsewhere, had a tasting, and was promptly greeted when I walked in.

  Very disappointment ! 0 stars!!!!! I called to ask if he could make my husband's birthday cake.. he said "No problem just send me the picture" and I did as he gave me his personal phone number. I left numerous text messages, calls, and voicemails on the store and his cell phone with absolutely NO response. And even though I was so mad I decided to still be nice and leave him a message that said that it was totally fine if he couldn't do it because he was busy with something else, and that all I was asking was to let me know because there is a time frame for these kind of things and I would have to see what I had to do in case he couldn't (instead of waiting for his response). Of course never answered! I've seen his job and it's really marvellous, that's why I instisted but NEVER again. I prefer to drive further and have an honest, straight forward, and professional person to deal with than this kind of lies, unprofessionalism, and rudeness. I prefer to buy a cake from freaking Shop Rite than going back to him. Very bad experience. Not good treating people like this!

  I have been a customer for a long time. I have ordered cakes for my babyshower, my friends' weeding, my 2 children's birthdays including my own; every single one of his cakes have been master pieces. His cakes are always moist with the right amount of sweetness that does not overwhelm your palate. In every party everyone has one question where did I get my cake? It gets hard to ignore all text messages and even though I would love to keep it a secret I always end up giving out his information. Rafael has always been very responsible meeting all dates and time frames. I never had a problem with any of my 10 plus cakes. Last order: June -28-2017 He will meet your expectations!!!!

  If I could rate Rafael with a zero I would. He failed to have my wedding cake done on time. My fiance' had to wait for one hour for him to decorate my wedding cake, on my wedding day. He also opened his bakery one hour late. He was unprofessional and disrespectful. At no time, did he apologize for his lateness. My wedding cake was also extremely dry. It crumbled when I sliced it at my wedding reception. I have had Dominican cake before and Rafael dropped the ball. My first and last experience with Rafael, one time is enough for me. This happened on 6/17/17.
