I found P.P.T. to be a very personalized place. I had been going to a smaller facility expecting more personalized care for 6 - 8 months, where I was put into a reclining chair, heat packs, stim pack and left for 20 minutes to watch tv. I then was put into a personalized room with 2 beds, a curtain separating them and given ultrasound. No physical therapy. The girls were not therapists but medical assistants. When I came to P.P.T. the first time, I was greeted by the front desk women and my Therapist came to introduce herself and take me into the big room. I was told tbe treatment plan, and it was started immediately . The therapist aide slowly led me thru the exercises, and explained what each one was and how i would feel feeling them. I liked this. My second appt.was today, and we progressed to the machines after the exercises. Yes, they are under construction, but very organized. I watched all of them, and each showed their patients how to do each movement with real concern. Of course they speak to each other, and when they see you stop, an aide is always coming over, seeing your plan which is on the table in front of you and moving forward. I feel very comfortable in here than the last place I was at. Someone commented on here that you are crammed in, not true. Each station has enough room to do what you need to do. Im sure when construction is over, it will be better but I am very, very satisfied. Everyone greets you, and makes you feel welcome. I LOVE P.P.T !!!!

It is a factory. They only care about fitting more beds in the facility and not about patient care, soon we will be treating on the roof. Half of the building is under construction and the other half has patients crammed in with absolutely NO privacy. The bathrooms are constantly flooded which makes it incredibly dangerous to the patients being treated. There is only one female handicapped accessible bathroom which is constantly getting stopped up or aqua therapy patients go into the same bathroom causing unsafe conditions. The pool has bullet holes in the window that have been there for a while and the ladder in the deep end is literally falling out of the tile. Be Careful! There are no rubber mats in the bathroom nor are there rubber mats in the main entry door to the facility. If it is pouring rain be careful because the tile that you enter the building to is extremely slick and unsafe when wet. Professional PT has managed to destroy a gorgeous therapeutic building and create a factory with patients being treated almost on top of each other. Personnel would rather talk among themselves regarding their personal lives or other patients care, instead of working on the patient they are working on. Also, if you truly want to receive PT make sure the person treating you is a physical therapist and and not a gym person. The only redeeming quality are the original South Bay Sports and Medicine Therapists, however, their numbers are dwindling.
