  Update to previous review of prestige alarm install from Ford Focus to Mustang , months later I find more stuff wrong with this installation. They wired the alarm transmitter attached behind the rear view mirror through the A pillar ON TOP OF THE AIR BAG INFLATOR. MAJOR SAFETY CONCERN ! NO WIRES SHOULD BE RAN OVER AN INFLATOR! EVER! At this point I can’t even bring it up to the owner because he’ll charge me to fix it. Spent $250 for rush work. In the picture you can see the wire ran over the inflator.

  Was charged $250 to swap a Prestige APS997E from a 2013 Ford Focus to a 2015 Mustang. Had the removal performed on the Ford Focus and was guaranteed the job would take less than an hour. I dropped the car off at 1:15 and the job was completed at 2:45. As soon as I drove off the garage, my car displayed a message on the dashboard that stated " Door Ajar". Thinking it was a dirty door latch sensor, I sprayed it down with electrical cleaner to see if it fix the issue. However, the problem lied in a clipped wire that the technician failed to re-secure. Unfortunately, that evening the car was getting traded in to the dealer for the mustang and I did not have enough time to bring the car back. I took another chance on them by allowing them to perform the installation of that same alarm on my new mustang. Being promised the remote start and alarm would work as a separate entity from the factory alarm/remote start, i trusted them to perform the installation. After leaving the car there most of the day, I was informed by the gentleman in charge, Will, that the remote start was unable to function with my vehicle due to the manufacturer (Prestige) not having made a bypass for that model. He informed me that the alarm however was working properly. Again , i thanked him and drove off the lot only to find more problems. The Prestige Alarm was being triggered every so often and going off randomly. I informed will of this issue and figured it may have just been due to the sensitivity of the shock sensor. After his technician took a look at it, I was informed that the vehicle's factory alarm was self arming and detecting the aftermarket prestige alarm draining the battery and was thus sending pulses of voltage to the shock sensor which caused it to trigger regardless of the sensitivity. Ultimately, i was advised to stick to the factory alarm. I asked to have it pulled out and was informed it would be another $100 on top of everything, even after being told it would work with my vehicle. Determined to find the true cause of the problem, I consulted with Master Technicians and took a look at OEM wiring diagrams for the mustang, being that i am currently employed in the field and learning about its aspects. It has been determined that the technician wired the alarm wrong. The shock sensor was receiving power from an improper wire and thus was causing it to trigger the alarm. Not only was the removal from the original vehicle a hectic experience, but it was also followed by equally horrid installation. Attempting to remain upbeat and positive about the effort provided by Will and his team, it is unfortunate to say that I feel as if I left my vehicle in improper hands and would not trust them to work on anymore of their vehicles. I had scheduled work for other vehicles with this shop, but due to this newly found evidence, I will have to cancel. It is better to allow corporate chains like Best Buy to install Car Audio and Remote Start as they have the proper training and experience. Additionally, they charge significantly less for installations. This shop has lost a long time customer along with countless referrals I would have provided my colleagues who were also looking for such work on their vehicles. STAY AWAY FROM THIS SHOP.
