  These guys are great. I decided to try my hand at shortening a 8.8 rear end and rebuilding it. Things didn't go so well. I took it to pro gear where they straitened the axle housings, reassembled the rear end and even re-welded the mounting brackets for me. They went so far as to paint the rear end where the welding took place to match the painting I had already done. All of this at a very fair price and with a ridiculously fast turn around time. I'll definitely go there again.

  Pro Gear is amazing. I'll try to keep this brief. Having been an East County resident for most of my life (30+ years), I entrusted most of the technical, tough work that I couldn't or didn't want to do on my Jeeps to [a shop of Mechanically Inclined People], in East County. Having moved on from that shop for more reasons than just location, I was referred to Pro Gear by a few friends. Craig and his team have been nothing but honest, fair, communicative, on time and stellar in all facets of their operations. Anytime I have questions, concerns or need a quote for future work, they are always happy to give you their time and are extremely knowledge. I could go on and on, but I think I've made my point. Pro Gear, Craig, Justin and the crew have made a customer for life. As long as I'm in San Diego, I'll ALWAYS go to Pro Gear for the work I can't perform myself. Best in the biz.

  Decided to post another review. Have been driving my truck all over the place. Lots of 4x4 trips and I am hard on my 96 FZJ80 Landcruiser. The diffs are holding up great with no problems and it drives great. So glad I brought it to these guys to do this technical work rather than trying to tackle it myself!

  I own a shop and use Pro Gears all the time. I purchase parts from them and recently had them straighten the housing that was bent on a Roush Mustang. Works great. Jerry Kubitsky Summit Transmissions

  Top Notch! Great to work with and know their stuff. So far so good. Took my 1996 Toyota Landcruiser in for crawler transfer case gears and axle gear swap to 4.88's. They did the work in a timely manner and at a reasonable price. I don't expect any problems but am confident they will stand behind their work based on their great attitudes and great customer service.
