  I took my daughter here for a Daddy/Daughter date night and it was the tastiest, most elegant dinner I've ever experienced. We enjoyed the six course meal from the octopus to the soft-shell crab. Our favorite was the Crab bisque. The staff was top notch and very professional. The location is convenient to downtown and with a modern, fine interior. I will definitely be returning with my wife and/or other daughter.

  I called to make a reservation for my birthday. My sister has 2 infants that would be joining us and they told me I should try next door where it was more kid friendly. I understand it's fine dining but it's not like I am bringing crazy kids who are misbehaved. 2 infants should not be turned away from being able to be in an upscale place. Needless to say it turned me off and I will never be trying Potente.

  Amazing food. Really creative Italian-style food, not the simplicity that you get in Italy itself but something deserving of an upscale restaurant like this. Our waiter was a little over-involved, insisting on going through the dishes on the menu in great detail, including dated and patronising nonsense about the smaller steak being "for the lady". The wine decanter was something to be beheld. Apparently the owner also owns the local baseball team, so he was there, it being a game night. So some small issues, but the food was incredible and at appropriate prices. They also coordinate napkins with your clothing, which I found bizarre but my partner thought was great.

  Fancy fancy fancy. One of the very few places that have legit truffle pasta. We had the porterhouse which was phenomenal. Service is top notch as expected for a fancy place. Great place to show off and splurge and have a great meal all at once

  Authentic Italian with impeccable service. Every dish was excellent tasting with a beautiful presentation. Plus, they went out of their way to help us celebrate a wedding anniversary. Hard to beat for upscale Italian in Houston.
