I recently used Lexington pods to move from Lexington to Versailles. After taking steps to properly pack and secure my contents, I opened my POD after the final delivery to what looked like a burglary scene. Boxes everywhere, broken glass. There was clear negligence on the part of the driver moving my contents. On December 8th, the day after the damage was discovered, I emailed Ken, the GM with the photos and asked for resolve. Two weeks later, still no response. I would not recommend working with Lexington PODs--that is, unless you want your belongings damaged and trashed.

A pod was left in my driveway one morning last week. I didn't order the pod. I open my garage to find it blocking my car from pulling out. I called the number on the side of the pod, was passed around and put on hold 4 or 5 times. Some of the rudiest customer service service I have ever had. They kept insisting I ordered the pod. After 45 minutes or so they finally said the contractor gave them wrong address. Almost 2 hours later after me telling them I am going to call police and have it towed away and me missing a very important business meeting it was dragged across the street. They told the contractor that ordered it they had punched the address in wrong. Very unprofessional and rude.

Used drop off, storage and relocation service and it was seamless. We had a gap between our move and Pods stored our pods and delivered as scheduled. They were even willing to work with us on a last minute change which ended up saving me a lot of money.

I had a very good outcome in my dealings with Pod. I was replacing carpeting, cleaning, etc. and I had Pods park the unit in my driveway where I could load up my stuff and when I was through with it, I swept it out and Pods came and took it away. Worked great!!

This whole service is an unmitigated horror show. Everything having to do with contracts, communication with you, or payments is handled through a national call center model, a call center that is apparently populated solely by idiots droning through scripts. They will not listen to you, or make the slightest effort to work with your specific question; it would be less frustrating working with a purely automated system that was programmed in another language. The individuals that do the actual moving might call you, if there is a problem, but the only time that you will be given any notification that the move of your POD, to storage or to your final destination, will be an automated message the night before that gives a 3-hour window that might be adhered to, if they feel like it; the business model appears to be that you, as the customer, will take whatever they decide to give you and like it. On top of everything, it is ridiculously expensive; the 'monthly rental' rate is going to be a couple hundred dollars, and on top of that they are going to charge you a fee for delivering it to you that is around $80, they will charge at least $70 to move it everytime they do so which can easily be much more, will charge you a storage fee if you send it to them to keep, and will charge you another $80 for picking it up after you are done. If you are looking for this in place of a moving service just go with the moving service as at the end you are not going to save much money. If you are looking for this as a storage option just rent a box truck and a traditional storage unit; you will easily save hundreds of dollars. In addition the drivers are in no way gentle with the POD when they move them, so you belongings that are near the top of the POD will likely experience at least some damage.
