  We rented the week of May 7, 2018 at Boston Logan. Pickup went fine but drop off was a disaster. There was no one at the drop off kiosk at the lot so they directed you into the building to drop off. We stood in line for over an hour just to drop off the car and had to run for our flight. We called the number that is indicated for customer service in many of the Google reviews suggesting all you had to do is call but the man on the phone was sarcastic and said "Oh too bad, you have to stand in line."! When I got to the desk, I asked in the future isn't there a better way to do drop off so people don't miss their flights?. The staffer clearly frustrated and overwhelmed said, "There is no future. There should be someone in the ramp for droppoff but we are understaffed. I am doing the best I can." AVOID PAYLESS AT BOSTON LOGAN. It might be cheaper than others, but you get what you pay for! NOT WORTH MISSING A FLIGHT AND THE DISRESPECT TO THE CUSTOMER.

  Two experiences: First, 2-3 years ago, their rental form where you opt out of everything had one paragraph where by initialing "opt out" you were actually opting out of NOT getting roadside assistance. I specifically asked the counter person why the rental cost more than what I had signed up for, and he claimed that my schedule had changed and there was an extra day, which turned out to be a lie. Second, just now I was trying to get through to customer service to ask a very simple question: can I pick up a car before 7am at Logan? The main call center was not able to tell me this, and told me to dial the Boston number (which I had originally dialed anyways). I tried two more times and didn't get through. I don't know if I can pick up a car before 7am at Logan, but it doesn't matter because I'm going with Alamo.

  Cannot get anyone on the phone. What the heck??? My toll pass isn't registering. I called the Boston terminal. Joke. Now on the phone with the 800 reservations person. Unbelievable. Doesn't know what a toll pass is. Seriously??

  It was super easy to pick up the rental car. I didn't have to wait in line and the staff was friendly and answered all the questions I had. The car itself was basically new, clean and in great condition. Overall I would recommend Payless!

  I travel about once or twice a month. My company forces you to take the best price, which payless was. The vehicle had significant body damage - just cosmetic, but I wouldn't drive around in my car if it looked like that. The vehicle had over 40,000 miles, the most I've ever seen on a rental car. Neither of these issues were a big deal, but returning the car was a huge hassle. Nobody at the Rental Car Return...so I walked to the counter nearby -- nobody there... so then I had to write down the mileage and gas level and then head down to the rental car main counter area. I felt lucky when I got there... no line! but sadly there was also no one there..this was at 5PM, not the middle of the night. I won't blame the attendant at the counter who came back after a few minutes, it looks like she was a one-lady show and she likely had to use the restroom. Please hire more people so you can effectively run your business, and buy some new cars...
