The best and only place I would buy my fish. It is always fresh, on any day, even with exotic and expensive fish, such as Halibut or Chilean Sea Bass. I never leave this place having paid less than $20, but I think it is so worth it. And of course, that is if you can look past the arrogant life hating owner. His wife is not very happy either. They somehow manage to find excellent workers. They do not stick around for long, but every time they have a helper behind the fish counter, it is always the nicest (generally North African/middle eastern or east Asian) man. So having said that, I only come to this place for the fish and to deal with other than owner staff, although, I've gotten a crack in smile from the man himself a few times since I've been frequenting his place.

The proprietor is like Seinfeld's Soup Nazi of seafood, unbelievably unpleasant... But the oysters were great (the only reason I gave it 2 stars instead of 1)

Good fish, very fresh. Also a good place to pick up Asian sauces and ingredients.

Decent, over-priced seafood, but very arrogant owner. I don't know what is wrong with this guy; he seems so angry with himself and the world. Also, the sushi at competitor Ocean Fish on Fifth Avenue is much better with larger pieces of sliced fish for less money. I wish I didn't have to go here, but there is no one else on Seventh Avenue anymore :(

Before my wife and I stopped eating fish and all other meats, this is where I went for fresh fish. I only purchased fish here a couple times but both were good experiences. There is a good selection of seafood and everything seemed fresh. Of course, because it is seafood it wasn't cheap. For some reason, there's never been anyone else shopping there when I've gone in. Maybe people know something I don't. The service has been friendly both times.
