  Very quiet and uncrowded park. Nice place for a picnic or barbecue, also nice trails for running or hiking

  This is a beautiful park and it's always a pleasure to take long peaceful walks here. Such a great way to relax and unwind with nature.

  Rifle camp is a wonderful place to observe nature and the beauty of the surrounding area. There trails, an observatory, a pond, picnic areas, a bird trail and much more. Less crowded than the neighboring Garret Mountain, it's a terrific refuge for solace and families.

  I've been visiting Rifle Camp Park since I was a child. It's a quite park, with a few miles of wooded trails. One of the trails actually has a portion that overlooks Clifton and the surrounding areas. One thing I did not know until recently was that the observatory holds star gazing nights. Some friends and I made it to one of these star gazing nights, and the view was just incredible considering how close we are to NYC.

  This is a nice park separately located from where the deer Mountain parkers. It is located closer to where the 7-Eleven is across the street. There is 1 Main Rd. that traverses the whole park although there are several places you can pull off and park in parking lots. Hiking here is a Good distance as there are many places you will see along your hike. If you start at the bottom you can take all the way up along the fence line by the reservoir which will eventually take you all the way up to the edge of the cliff where they have built the condominiums. There's also a pond here and an observatory at the very top. Among the things you'll see other than the regular birds you also see turkeys and deer. ( Especially since Clifton in its greed for taxes has allowed half the mountain to be torn down ruining the habitat for the deer.) The observatory at the top is a great place to visit and look out over Patterson and Clifton. The observatory is something I've never actually been in as it is never open when I go up there. There is even a meeting once a month or so for UFO interested people.
