  On entering was welcomed by bad odour, place was dirty, pizza crusts were on the floor. The kitchen staff was smoking at entrance. Staff didn't even care to inform me of any offers to consider. Didn't find staff active. I'm avoiding this place next time.

  I haven't had a pizza for several months and there is a Papa John's Pizza right up the street from where I currently reside, so I thought that I'd give them a try out : I've never tasted a Papa John's Pizza however, there is a little history behind their corporation's founder ( Although I can't corroborate my statement with any factual evidence, the story behind it is interesting.). The pizza chain - now known as Domino's - was once a partnership. One day the two partners decided to dissolve their association on the basis that one could make a better pizza than the other, so Papa John's was founded. Doesn't that story ring a bell? I've tried Roundtable, Pizza Hut, Domino's and CeCe's and I just never cared for their pizzas. Roundtable's were too crusty and expensive. Pizza Hut? I'm sure that they're a favourite of "Jabba The Hut" and his crew - too much crust and dough however, their commercial is petty cool ; it may pick up a few Star Wars fans but I doubt that I'll ever see "HamillHimself" eating there or on one of their commercials? Domino's pizzas are loaded with garlic salt - a very popular ingredient in most pizzas that is often overused.They are usually fairly thin and hard. My pizza at Papa John's - in my opinion - had "better tasting ingredients ; I thought that it was really good and it had the pizzazz which those at the other places didn't!" I ordered the two topping 10" special, with pepperoni and black olives. My order also included a 591ml. Pepsi, which usually cost $2 at other places.The total cost was $8.60 - a darn good deal!😊 My pizza was delicious and if you like garlic, it comes in a small cup along with the pizza for those who like garlic! They usually stock small packages of crushed dried hot peppers, if they suit you palate. I went back to Papa John's this evening ( Sat. May 26th ) and got another small pizza-same as the last one-which was really good and also pricewise too! I couldn't help but notice how hard the staff- including a trainee-worked, especially considering the amount of take out and delivery orders that they made : Tonight, there were only two guys working the floor and as I watched them make and crank out pizzas, I was amazed in regards to how difficult it is to make so many different types of pizzas and snacks. It would certainly take time-perhaps months- to learn this trade. It's our values and passions that drive us forward through life. Papa John's did honour one of their downtown members, as his picture was on their flyer that is distributed to their customers every time that they buy a pizza. This tells me quite a bit about the ethics of Papa John's franchises and their corporate policies; that they honestly care about everyone of their associates, all the way to the top! One thing that I always notice about San Diego, is how hard many of our young people work, as well as how dedicated they are to their jobs. The two young gentlemen who worked their shift at Papa John's tonight thoroughly impressed me, as they exemplified the American way of life... Anyhow. If you'd like a good pizza, they're at 1001 Broadway @ (619) 230 - 2100. They also cater, serve different side orders and bottled Pepsi and Twist too.

  Order'd a meats pizza, Saw that it would be $3.00 cheaper if i order'd 1 pepperoni and 1sausage. Two pizza's. Cheaper than one. But wouldn't let me change my order..... Guess the customer is not always right.. Or even has a right to change mind? Not here.

  Would give a zero if I could. Workers not helpful, courteous, or diligent in their work. Small parking lot was full so I had to pay for parking in a lot where a guy was urinating in full view of pedestrians. Do yourself a favor and choose someplace else to eat.
