Wasn’t feeling very much care from the doc…kinda fake and he spent little time and I have no answers, referrals or anything. The low review is due to the fact that I spent most of my time in the public waiting room in a hospital gown with an IV because they claim they are short on beds but when I was in there, they had 6 empty rooms we walked past. I also had to discuss my personal results in the hallway with no privacy and they didn’t offer me any place to go change after. I’m pretty sure that is not HIPPA compliant. They say on their site they focus on caring and compassion and I would say the nurses were that…the rest, was humiliating and there was an old woman with a head trauma and a woman who came in by ambulance just hanging out in the public waiting room with nobody helping them.

Since initially posting a 2 star rating, Overlake reached out to me to provide details. Gladly, and in retrospect I’ve demoted my rating to one star for their incessant pestering of reviewers with legitimate grievances—I don’t think a phone call can clear up problems like those. Now onto my experiences here. High wait times, uncaring nurses, and being left alone for 16 hours when I was admitted several years ago with pneumonia and nearly died. More recently, I had an ovarian cyst that apparently burst and caused pain of 8/10–the doctor ordered a CT scan and thought it was…fibroids? so I was billed $3000 for a misread of a scan and had to later undergo an invasive operation to discover the actual cause. One of my nurses also let me bleed out when trying to change my IV and tried to laugh it off—she’s lucky she caught it or I’d have been there longer. I know working in the medical field is exhausting, I know it sucks. But I’ve genuinely developed hospital trauma from coming here. Go anywhere BUT here. The receptionists are usually nice, and some of the nurses are solid, but the doctors don’t care and the rest of the nurses are underpaid—and it shows in how they treat their patients.

I see 4 medical care providers here and they have all been top notch empathetic and competent professionals. The facility is challenging to get in and out of due to the constant and continuous construction. Also can be difficult to find your way once inside, common to most large medical centers. I was sent to ER due to pain on my calf 9/10 never feels this pain in my life before. I can barely walk. Doctor resist ultra sound. 90 minutes someone come by to get ultra sound. I was in there thirsty. I call 2 times no nurses come by. The day I went I don’t see many people in ER. 2 hours later doctor come he said he cannot get why my calf is in pain and sent me home without treatment or pain medication. Telling me if situation get worse come back. I was like if I am worst I could have a heart attack.. Anyway left with disappointments, I deceived a bill which I paid in full don’t want any medical bill. Again I received another bill, I called in and ask I paid the bill why do I need to pay again..the admin girl said it’s for different department. I again paid the bill. Today, labor day weekend I received another bill from Overlake. Very disappoint at the services and the billing department. If there is a negative star I would give it. I understand there is shortage in staffs and nurses, what I experience is just bad services.

I've been here quite a few times by now unfortunately, but I couldn't ask for a better staff to help. Even when very busy I was treated with kindness, patience and care. When having my surgery here the nursing staff made me comfortable, as did everyone in the surgical team! My thanks to you all!
