Don't take the word of bitter people who have nothing else to do but criticize. You will find horrible reviewers who complain just about everything. Visit the place and talk to people (real students and teachers), then decide for yourself if this is a University made for you.

I began attending OLLU when I was still active duty in the Navy. I became interested in this school because I was looking for a Psychology program that had a basis in Social Work. What sold me on the choice was the class size. See before I joined the Navy and really my reason for doing so was because I didn't think that I nor my parents could afford to send me to college after high school. So without having the college experience, even at the community college level, I wanted a smaller and more focused approach at a school that had a great reputation and track record. Once enrolled I loved the quiet on campus environment and the facilities were modern enough for the resources provided. I truly enjoyed the gym. Because of the small campus and student body the gym was never crowded but had all the latest equipment so working out there was a dream. My professors were very understanding and provided options if at any time my schedule became a little complicated. I love this school and if I had more time in San Antonio I'd be able to finish my last few credits. Go SAINTS!!!!!

the school is a scam. The only reason I head about it was because they came to my high school almost accepting everybody on the spot. Waste of semester. not worth its price, and one professor always enjoyed intimidating me in front of the whole class. Professor name which I won't mention. I learned nothing. LESS than one star. like come on really who cares about the school's mission when your career is set in trial. The claim themselves to be "good" because it a private catholic institution, but the reality is that when I needed help the most they weren't there. Maybe in body but not willing to help me. I could say that overall only one of my professors knew what he was teaching, but just don't go here. waste of time and money.

At OLLU, I found the learning enviroment that OLLU provided was what I needed to build my self confidence. It gave me the chance that I thought was slipping away from me after so many years of out of high school. With this new confidence and also benefiting from the learning enviroment at OLLU, it led me to continue my studies at Univ. of Texas Indiana Univ. and Harvard. I went on to work at multi national corporations and eventually my own businesses. To those who hesitate about OLLU, you might miss the boost you needed. At least for me, I needed it. I found mine at OLLU!

I graduated from The Lake in 1995 and have followed the school's history since. I know there was a certain amount of turmoil concerning administration and course offerings for awhile. But that is done. Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU) had and has an outstanding instructional staff and the courses for any student and graduate to be successful. I still keep in touch with my fellow graduate professionals - teachers, mostly - and I very much appreciate the opportunity I had to attend and graduate from OLLU. It is a quiet campus for the serious student, but there is plenty of opportunity on campus and around San Antonio for social interaction. Sports were only intramural when I graduated, but the Saints participate in 14 sports, now, as part of NAIA. This is a great school and, if you are serious about wanting a good education and not just a good time, you might want to disregard some of those rather immature reviews and look closely at The Lake.
