  I just received my new skinny black tie in the mail and put it right for the night. It's classic and everyone's been saying how much they like the texture. It's going right back into the box afterwards so that I can enjoy unwrapping it one more time (the packaging is awesome).

  Otis James has impeccable taste and attention to detail, and it shows in every piece. It is incredible to hear the passion in his voice about the work they do. Even cooler, as you look through the shop and pick up each piece to feel each unique, specially selected fabric, you can see through the window into the area where everything is handmade onsite!

  I have followed Otis from that dank shed in his back yard, to his joint space with Emil Erwin, and now to his solo swell retail/workspace. I love that when I walk in, Otis or Katie, or Ashely come right out and say "Hello!" If you plan to spend $100+ on a tie or hat, you deserve a personal experience. Otis James doesn't disappoint. Not only does this cat hover over a sewing machine or thread the needle that stitches these pieces together, but he shakes your hand and talks you through the process and passes the love right over. Man, if you can't find it here, you can't find it anywhere. The tight selection is perfect every time. Go see it for yourself you lucky bastard.

  When you enter the Otis James shop it is small a glimpse into a world of excellence and impeccable craftsmanship. There is no denying the amount of attention and detail that goes in to anything that makes it on the shelf; it is apparent when you glance through the studio window, browse through the shop, or chat with Otis as he passes through on his way out. I love going in and witnessing the personal consideration of Otis taking measurements for an excited patron for their first handmade hat. Whether you are interested in formal wear, tailor-made garments or art, I would encourage anyone to stop by and say hi to Otis and his incredible staff, and see all I have mentioned at its highest level. Any time there is an opportunity for me to mention Otis James tend to go on and on. I'm a genuine fan.

  You can literally see and feel all the detailed craftsmanship that goes into an Otis James tie or cap when you visit his suite at Marathon Village. It is a wonderful experience to visit the shop, meet the maker, know where and see how the product was made. My husband loves his new ascot!
