  There is a good reason this is rated the best zoo in the country. There is almost every animal imaginable there. I spent a whole day there and didn't see everything. I have seen several zoos before but this one was amazing. There are all kinds of programs for kids and families which I didn't have the time to explore. You would have to go onto their website to find out about. I visited in the winter time and there was still so much to see. In the summer time the animals can go out in large areas more like their natural habitats and there are shows to see. I am definitely heading back there this summer to see them. There are restaurants there with good food but are rather expensive. You are allowed to bring in your own food though.

  Recognized as the best zoo in the world time and time again, the Henry Doorly Zoo is a crown jewel of Omaha. The aquarium features a breadth of spectacular views from penguins diving to clown fish playing in reefs. The African wildlife exhibit is expensive and gorgeous. It features many of nature's most epic creatures in large scale recreations of their habitats. Elephants, here, have room to wander. Lions are lounging and able to truly move around. It is the first time I haven't felt sad for caged animals. The list of exhibits is too long to do justice here, suffice it to say you must go here.

  Even on an off season on a day with heavy intended rain,the beauty simply wasn't lost on this place. This zoo is so well placed together and innovative. The staff was kind and attentive and something rare to see with any tourist attractions is a well priced gift shop. I couldn't help but to buy so much of this cute merchandise. The animals seemed healthy and happy and free. Walking paths were easy and fun. This clearly deserves place as one of the best zoos in the world. Simply amazing.

  This zoo is great. They've made some great improvements and are still working on other projects to enhance the experience. Our kids love the petting zoo area but it was closed when we visited in March. Hopefully it will return after they renovate the area. I would give the zoo 5 stars but the food service needs help. Poorly run, out of napkins and ketchup, and crazy expensive. They seemed under staff and those that were working seemed confused and untrained. We'll definitely be packing our own food when we return.

  One of the best zoos in the country. We visited in the afternoon and should've planned more time. You could easily spend an entire day here and still have things to do. You can leave and re-enter, so plan on taking a break if you need it. So many well done exhibits featuring animals in close facsimiles to their native habitats. An impressive desert dome, jungle exhibit, and many more. Neither the elephants not the giraffes were out on our visit due to weather, but the zoo accommodates by letting visitors into theb animals' indoor facilities. It was interesting to see them up close in that environment. Like I said, there was more we didn't see than we did. Highly recommend a visit here if you can.
