  I always love my hair after being in the chair at Ohana Hair Salon with Carrie Holder. Carrie has done my hair for 10 years really enjoy the atmosphere and vibe, too.

  The team at Ohana worked me in last minute as a first time customer today. Heather turned my limp curly hair into a fun and cute bob. She paid a great deal of attention to detail and didn't shortcut anything. I'm very pleased with my cut and style and will definitely be returning!

  My experience here for my wedding day was like a roller coaster. First I went for a trial run and everything seemed to be great. My mother in law was with me and at the end of the trial I explained how I only had a short amount of time in the morning to set up my reception before being at the salon (starting at 9am). So she told me in front of my mother in law 10am and that if some of the bridal party staggered in after because we were not done setting up that would be ok. Come the day of I get a call at 9:40 and it was the owner with an attitude saying how we were all supposed to be there at 9:30, we were late. First I stated she told me 10, she said she never said that and I wasn't going to argue. But let me say I would have never agreed to 9:30 because I would not have enough time to set up my reception. When I got to the salon she was nice again. Then had an attitude because I changed what I wanted after my trial run. Isn't that what a trial run is for in the first place? I wanted a simple half up half down with curls but she didn't let me forget that I changed hair style. The whole salon also didn't let my bridal party forget that we were "late" either. Made them uncomfortable multiple times by letting them know. My makeup was flawless, however my hair was awful. She rushed my hair at the end and it was lopsided and I kept telling her what I wanted, she didn't care. They had two people to do a huge bridal party and all I'm saying is if they blocked out more stylist for that large of a group maybe they wouldn't have been so stressed on time. And maybe my hair wouldn't have been the way it was. At the end she had to redo my hair, at this time she was back to being friendly. The rest of the day my photographer and anyone around me kept having to do maintenance on my hair. I had 3 bobby pins holding up a half up half down hair style, and a bridal hair comb. I have thick hair also. There is no reason my hair should have turned out that way. Period. I ended up having to take it down after only a few hours after leaving the salon because it wouldn't stay up and my comb kept falling out. My mothers hair had bobby pins falling out before the ceremony started. For any bride looking for a salon on your wedding day, just be very careful before going to this one. 2 stars because my makeup was done well. Again I would have never agreed to a 9:30 start time because I did explain my situation and what things I had to complete that morning. I did get a reminder text the day before but with being busy with rehearsal and wedding preparation I overlooked it but had I noticed the time I would have called immediately to explain again how that was not doable. I had a bridesmaid waiting until about 15 mins before we left to even get her makeup done, which was not a problem but with the other stylist being free at that time and not jumping in to do it my bridesmaid had to wait so I'm not sure why my wedding party was reminded throughout the time there that we were late. I was made aware of the comments by several after my wedding day, which is what prompted my review. No matter who called to add a service a week before hand and what was said, the salon should have been happy to accommodate since it is a business after all. It was a very nice salon inside and I'm sure many other people had great experiences here. I'm just telling my experience. Also the humidity was low that day and my wedding was in air conditioned buildings, I've never had a problem with my hair holding up at any formal event before. I was never told by the stylist that she didn't think it would hold. That is not true. The original hairstyle done at the trial was not a side pony, it was also a down style that was pinned to one side.

  I have been going to Ohana Hair Salon for as long as I have known the owner. It's easy to throw some color from a box on your hair but if you want something of quality that lasts; well then Carrie Holder is the person to come see. I don't trust anyone but the staff at Ohana Hair Salon. And when it came to my wedding day I never second guessed my choice. Carrie did a fabulous job for me and my bridesmaids, she exceeded my expectations! She and her staff always go above and beyond to make me feel comfortable and happy with my look! If you want to go somewhere that treats you like family then Ohana Hair Salon is the right place for you. Because ohana, means family and family means no one gets left behind!
