  The owner really knows his wine so he only stocks the store with wine worth buying, even the wine on the cheap side.

  Great selection. The only problem is they are never open. They claim to be open and they're closed. They have summer hours that they do not follow. It's incredibly frustrating when you walk to a place that should be open and they are closed. Incredibly frustrating. All the time. Oh my God.

  Great local wine and liquor shop. The owners are great, someone from the family is always there! Decent prices for the area and they offer a discount when they have a tasting going on. Thrilled to have this right around the corner from me!

  I love Off the Vine. It's a family shop run by people who really love their wine, so they can make good recommendations. I see other reviews saying they're overpriced, but I consider it a treat to shop here with people who are knowledgeable and friendly—they contribute greatly to the Astoria community, frequently throwing wine tastings and other store events—and I'll take that type of communal experience over a dime-a-dozen liquor store that can't make recommendations. And, I don't find them particularly overpriced.
