This hotel was all we needed for a few nights. One block from the beach and all the restaurants. The hotel was on the main strip where all the great stores I love to shop. The room didn’t look actually like described but had everything in the room mention in the description. Very convenient having the breakfast inside the hotel.

This hotel is very deceiving. The hotel is old and smelly. The room was run down and some lights/tv didn’t work. The bathroom is very small and shower is dirty with low water pressure. There’s a kitchenette which is useless. The continental breakfast was a joke. The staff wasn’t friendly. The windows are frosted so you can’t see out at all. Overall I would never in my life stay here again. The only thing that was good about this hotel was the location. It is a block away from the beach which was nice.

I recently stayed here with my family of five and I wish I could give this place a negative-star rating. To start off, the place reeks of weed and the front desk staff said they couldn’t do anything about it. The weed stunk for so long in the rooms and the hallways because everything is carpeted. The front desk staff was rude and gave us false information: we were going to the beach so the front desk lady gave us an address of a place called Esteban’s Place that will give us two beach chairs and one umbrella for free. She told us to go to the corner of Ocean Drive and 15th Street and the place will be there. My family and I walked all the way there only to find out that it was actually on the beach, a bit farther than that intersection. So we wasted a good 15 minutes walking there. Once we got to Esteban’s Place, we found out that they closed at 5 pm. The guy at the hut told us that we should have been told the closing time, and once we brought it up to the front desk lady, she said she didn’t know about it and didn’t apologize. The package that we bought included the room fee and the chairs and umbrella apparently so when we asked to be reimbursed for the chairs and umbrella, she said she couldn’t reimburse us. The next morning for breakfast, they ran out of food within 30 minutes of being open for breakfast. As for parking, they have a private valet company that deals with parking so when the guy came to park our car, we couldn’t understand him since he could barely speak English. I strongly do not recommend this place.

Rip off, rude, dirty. These are the three words that come to mind when staying at the Ocean Reef Suites. If you like the bait and switch con, this place is for you! Your journey begins by showing up in your car, expecting the parking as designed on their website only to be told that they don't actually provide parking. Think the rate you reserved at is the rate you are actually going to pay? Definitely not, be prepared for extra fees! After the front desk has ripped you off and treated you like a second class citizen, be prepared to enter the dump that is your hotel room. Stained carpet leads you to your "suite" where you are greeted with foul smelling odors, a bed that couldn't even benefit from the comfort of a box spring much less a real mattress, and a space a/c unit that would be lucky to keep the room below 75 degrees. Save your time, money and dignity and stay some where else!
