Everyone mad about the “light horse Harry” statue that was removed had racist grandparents who loved the guy who took a mean L in the civil war. I even heard someone call it “Snowflake Park” now. How butthurt and resistant people are to equality. This park was never receptive to minorities. Now people can take a breath and not see the guy who fought for the “South” and slavery. Beautiful park and Arlington Hall is a great venue for events. They serve a delightful lunch and the facility has been remodeled.

This is a nice park in the midst of multi-story urban residential living. It's an open green space with a walkway around it, and trees ring this open area. Lots of people bring their dogs here and let them hang out off leash together. It's essentially an unofficial dog park. This group is really friendly and inviting. There's also a building that often hosts weddings and events. On the other side of that building there are maybe a few small fountain type structures and a concrete walkway through a small waterway.

Attended a catered event at Arlington Hall at Oak Lawn (formerly Lee) Park. The park is a beautiful sprawling green across from equally lovely park area across the street as part of Turtle Creek. All completely open to the public. Arlington Hall is a wonderful building for private events; I've attended more than a few excellent wedding receptions there. Lee, or rather, Oak Lawn Park is a wonderful Dallas institution where all are welcome to gather and enjoy the beauty of the grounds and the elegance of Arlington Hall. Free, low key, a Dallas treasure open to citizen and visitor alike.
