Having used to work just a block away from NOMA station, I must say that I rally like the station and especially the area around it. With a Dunkin Donuts, Starbucks Potbellys and even a Harris Teeter all within waling distance, you cannot ask for more modern convenience. Also, being right next to a large and unique university like Gallaudet made for a fascinating urban experience. I loved the are and the Metro station made getting there easy, clean and a pleasure to use. One warning - it is not an enclosed station. The platform is covered (so you do not get rained on) but is is not shielded on the sides. In the Winter, wear a coat.

As others have said, the station is relatively clean and well-lit, but unfortunately doesn't provide much cover from wind which is really apparent during the frigid winter months. The two entrances/exits are also very far apart, so make sure you use the correct one or you'll be doing some unnecessary extra walking. For DC railfanners, this station is great as it provides a full view of the Union Station rail yard, with Amtrak and MARC trains coming and going every now and then.

Clean and safe compared to other stations, would recommend to some heaters to hang up, chilly!

I used the Metro for the first time and was extremely impressed by the employees. They were so helpful with answering all my questions and providing great advice. It's a great form of public transportation. The only downfall I noticed were the rude locals that think it's ok to blatantly throw their trash all over and shovr it down on the tracks between the bus and the walkway. I was disgusted by this. Is it too much to take pride in you own city?
