  Comparable only to Time Warner. The biggest POS company, with the most difficult process of cancelling membership and hooking you into a membership that secretly bumps in price. Regardless of whether the facilities are good (they actually are pretty good), I would encourage anyone to think about joining, then don't join. Simply based on the fact that is a pseudo monopoly who doesn't care about your money once you are locked into a membership. I joined as an out-of-stater and was not able to effectively cancel for four months. I would sue if I thought it were worth it. ON PRINCIPLE, I urge you not to join this club. You might see a friendly face and super nice dude get you to join and tell you all the deals, etc. In the end, he is not your friend. I found that out after I reached out to him in desperation. My friend had the exact same experience. This may seem like a unique example but it is not. This is who the company is and it is disgusting.

  There is a good variety of equipment and the trainers are great. Locker room conditions is really what needs improvement. The showers , sauna and steam room need upkeep and repair. Locker room cleanliness isn't that great. Update-3/23/18 since posting this review NYSC has contacted me and let me know that they are working on improving and they have. You can tell the cleaning crew is working hard to keep the locker room clean. Club repairs are also starting.

  I joined this gym because its on Madison Ave thinking its a good gym, the only reason I also joined because its near work and I was told I don't need to commit to a contract since I cannot commit to a gym, I waned to pay month to month. I got lied too, I been in the gym for only a month already and I realized my credit card statement was charged 3 times $69.99 spoke to a manger who was really rude and trashy her name was Arianna Williams. She was like I am going to cancel the membership and refund you the $69.99, I said fine since I am only going for a month I see my credit card statement 2 weeks later I see two charges for $69.99 and when I called her she was like I can only refund one. I was like no you have to refund the whole thing I told you I wanted to join the gym for a month, that was scam. The Gym is really dirty, the towels are so cheap an old I had rashes because of them. They feel like aloofa, the showers are so dirty and the drains are full of hair at 7am when the gym just opened at 5:30am? how is that possible? the floors are dirty and they have stains, sometimes there is clean wipes and sometimes there isn't. The showers smells, the women locker room there is only 3 working blow dryers and they are super old. This gym shouldn't be in the city, it belongs else where. But not in Madison Ave! Safe your money and go else where. The trainers are disgusting and they stair and women all the time.

  Cleanliness has gone WAY down hill and there is an increasing number of beefheads who love to stare at women in the weights section. Made me very uncomfortable and I had to leave. Couldn’t even complete my routine. NYSC is becoming just another jerkoff bro gym and I’m seriously considering paying more for another club.

  Worst customer service ever - I have been lied to and they are a bunch of scammers. I asked to get my account canceled in November, but they froze my account. Now in January, they changed my account to "Active" and started to charge my account. I had to go there and cancel it again, and asked to have my account on "not active" until it's completely canceled. But no, NYSC decided to go behind my back and to keep it active and here I am getting charged for not being there - I didn't even get a refund, even though I have contacted them IN person and on the phone. Wayne, The general manager is never around and his staff doesn't seem to know how to do their job nor have they being trained in customer service (not really good manager coaching). This is pathetic, and I hope you all go to other gyms here in NYC with better customer service - Because they don't know anything about service quality.
