I was in dire need of a new nail place. I'm a huge fan of Sakura Nails and Primp and Polish so trying this place out was a bit of a gamble. I read the reviews and noticed Frances popped up on a lot of people's comments regarding the SNS nails. I did a little research on SNS and was like daaaaaaammmn ok I'm gonna try this. I made a reservation and got in with no problem for a 6pm booking. I have a problem nail where my pointer cracked in the middle in the side.. Frances calmed my nerves and told me to relax while she put a silk wrap on my nail. She paid incredible attention to each nail and shapped then EXACTLY how I like it.. (and I am a very particular person with my nails). The color was perfect and I couldn't be happier. I'll review regarding how long these SNS nails last, but so far I'm a fan. Great job Frances!! 💕 I'll be back in a few weeks!

This salon is now called "pick a pretty color". I chose this salon because they do SNS (powder) manicure. I've had SNS many times in other cities and it always lasts three or more weeks. However, after my manicure here I had to have it REDONE after just 5 days because the color cracked and also snapped one of my nails. Terrible! I also wasn't happy that they didn't use a clear base coat powder as I've experienced in the past. As I was about to leave on vacation, I had the SNS replaced with gel/Shellac. Also not good!! I've never had my nails bend with Shellac on - it's supposed to be hard! Consequently the Shellac was also cracking after just a few days. Don't waste your money here. Go somewhere else.

My fiance visited this place this weekend. Here is the detailed review: this place used to be my favorite place on the upper east side. It is open late on weekdays (which is great for folks that work late). Lately however, it has gone downhill. If you want a manicure/pedicure, you can't even relax. While you are getting your pedicure done, two people come up to you and start tugging and pulling at your nails on your hands (getting your hands prepped for the manicure portion). It is way too much going on at the same time. Literally you cannot relax (manicure/pedicures are supposed to be a soothing and relaxing experience) because there are so many things going on at once. When I was getting my pedicure done the water was very cold (a few people had to remind the technician to turn up the water). They always seem like they are in a hurry and do a hasty job. After my pedicure, I got a gel manicure. The woman was an older woman who was rude. She kept using her nail (HER NAIL!!!) to wipe off any extra nail polish that had gotten on my skin. She was not using a swab with nail polish remover (as is sanitary). Literally she dug her nail into my skin!!! Then she kept messing up a nail and asked rudely over and over why it wasn't okay. Finally she fixed it but it added on at least 25 extra minutes to the manicure. This is the worst part- as my nails were drying she started clipping (yes clipping) her fingernails in front of me- and her nails flung onto my clothes (which I couldn't fling off because my nails were drying). I have never seen a service professional behave like this. It was appalling that she had a paying customer drying her nails and she decided that was a time for her own personal grooming. Finally when I left I did not tip that well (because the whole experience was so awful). When the woman at the register saw my tip she told the woman who had done my gel manicure-- and the manicurist looked at me and starting screaming loudly to the other woman. Clearly they were both having an exchange (I am not sure in which language) about me and they kept looking at me and I could see them getting angry. At that point I didn't even have the energy to explain that the service was unprofessional and unhygienic so I just shrugged it off. If you want a quick 15 minute shoddy manicure on a weeknight this place is fine. If you want a professional manicure/pedicure, hygienic staff and a pleasant customer experience, do not go here. Stay away!!
