You have to pay for parking and bring change with yourself because the machine wouldn't take dollar bills. Also be prepared to wait a very long time. DO NOT GO HERE IN A TANK TOP OR SHORTS THEY WILL ASK YOU TO LEAVE

I want to start by saying its not as bad as people on here make it out to be! yea, the cop probably pulled you over for some stupid reason but for that u can blame the county officials nothing to do with this court specifically. Things I learned: 1) You don't need a lawyer if its a minor offence! 2) the whole thing should take between 2-3 hours. 3) unlike what you'll find online There is NO $35 dismissal fee! if its dismissed you don't pay a cent. second, I want to go over what you can expect if you have to come here, it was my first time this week. first of all, get here as early as possible! if you can, try to have your meter ticket by 8:55am. the later you get there the longer the lines are going to be. keep in mind that valid spots start at "2026" so make sure your chosen spot is above that number. meters are 50c for an hour, i paid for 5 hours but i only needed 2.5hrs. next time i would do 3 to be safe. Once you're parked you'll go into the building where you will walk thru a metal detector and go stand in line, at some point someone will take your license (you will get it back later), line takes from 35 minutes to an hour and 15 minutes depending on when you get there/how busy it is. slowly they will call people in to the 'main' room, again you will wait for around 20-40 minutes until someone calls your name. when your name is called you will speak to someone who will in most cases be super nice, (this is where you get your license back) they will explain to you the charges and will in most cases offer you to plea guilty for jay walking. i sat there for 40 minutes or so, if your ticket is for 3 points you can expect it to be reduced to a jay walking ticket, if its a 6 point ticket you can expect it to be reduced to 3 and so on. if you accept the plea you'll sit back down for 25-45 minutes, they will call your name and you'll go see a judge who will in most cases basically confirm with you that you want to plea guilty to jay walking. once your done with the judge you'll go to the payment desk/room and be on your marry way! I originally had three tickets. 1 for no proof of insurance, 1 for no front plate, 1 for crossing hazardous lines (3 points). my insurance ticket was dismissed (i provided proof), my plate ticket (which the cop told me is a repairable ticket meaning i can provide proof that i put it back on, which i found out in court is not true! its not a repairable ticket) was also dismissed, I only had to plead guilty to jay walking which was no points and $250 ticket plus a $2 fee for paying with a cc....

I would rather get tortured than come here and be extorted for every penny I own. Horrible. Makes you just want to leave NY and never come back. The people who work here are disgusting miserable dingbats

This place just wants your money. Showed the proof of my registration and insurance. They want to lower my ticket to a jaywalking and charge me over $100. So if I have acceptable proof that my documents are in order why am I still being charged anything. Just one of the many disgusting practices of traffic courts.
