Clean, great, fun and very friendly place. Definitely recommend this. Great location. Almost everything is walking distance. Never felt unsafe.

This was my first stay at any sort of hostel, ever. And it did not disappoint me in any way! The staff was professional, the other guests were very pleasant and came from different corners of the world. The room I stayed in was enough to accomodate 10 people well. The living and common spaces were well taken care of. The best part of the Nashville Downtown Hostel was that it was within perfect walking distance of so many things to do on Broadway. Excellent location. The worst part was parking. You have to park in a city garage a few blocks away for overnight stays. So plan on one person going to get/park the vehicle when loading and unloading outfront. Very nice place to stay!!

Great place to stay, but the guys working the front desk at night are extremely rude and are not accomodating at all. One of them was completely unprofessional and could care less for the customers, especially for those with disabilities. I've stayed here twice over the past year. I'd stay here again only if nothing reasonable is available. The ladies working the front desk in the morning were absolutely great, but it doesn't change what I experienced the night before with the rude guys.

The place is very clean and they have a lovely Travelers aesthetic. Some might call the look "too busy", but I think it's great because Travelers are busy! Most of my issues were with the staff. They have a rule that outsiders aren't welcome in the building but if you're a first of a guest. Someone told me it was okay for me to be there, and then someone else told me that it actually wasn't okay for me to be there but they had to honor it because someone else said it. I think it's over all rude and not hospitable to not allow "outside guests" that know the guests inside into the common areas. Of course, it makes sense that people that aren't paying for a room wouldn't be allowed into the bedding areas. They should treat all visitors like potential guests, and care about their reputation with the public. I could have been considering a bed but changed my mind because of how I was treated. And why a "no outsiders" policy, anyway? Wouldn't you want people to see how nice the place is and be nice to them, and maybe they'll consider staying there? Such poor sense of advertising and business practices.

This hostel has the most awesome night time staff ever! Jeremy and Matt are very friendly. The hostel is in an awesome location, walking distance to almost everything! Shared space is full of music and friendly faces. There's a shared kitchen. Beer and wine is allowed. The hostel is nice and it's very clean. If you can avoid bringing your car into the city that would be ideal since parking can be tricky and expensive. The only reason I am choosing 4 stars instead of 5 is because the rooms have metal bunk beds that squeak when you or your roommate get into them and there is a grand total of 6 outlets for a room with 8 people. They wouldn't let me reserve a room with a smaller number of occupants. I spent a lot of time downstairs in the common areas where I could charge my devices and hang out with other people, not disturbing my roommates after quiet hours that start at 10 p.m. Oh, and I think the rooms named after famous musicians is cute and fun!
