::Gorgeous little shop for well designed and handcrafted home wares at astonishingly accessible prices. The quality of every item in the store is magnificent. You can tell they curate the collection carefully and it's really fun to browse through the craftsmen's work.

::High quality Japanese goods with prices to match. This isn't the place to go for a discount, but if you know what you want, and you're willing to pay for it, this place is hard to beat

::Nalata Nalata is listed on Google as an art gallery. Though this isn't technically correct, considering presentation of the strongly curated specialty household goods they sell, it sort of makes sense. Their interior is small, yet open, with delicately placed, beautiful, well-made (primarily Japanese) designer teapots, brooms, ashtrays, business-card holders, etc. Each product features its own informational placard which tells of its geographical and material origins, designer and/or craftsperson – giving all elements their due respect. Everything is shockingly well-priced, considering the quality of craft, and New York real estate. The custom cabinetry lining the walls features in-built lighting which flatters each item (basically practical art object) perfectly. The lights are even on a dimmer in order to better suit the objects in accordance with the intensity of the natural light coming in. In addition: The owner that was there at the time was very friendly and helpful, and never attempted to interrupt our experience or 'sell' us anything – a much appreciated rarity. A truly lovely space to be in. We haven't a single negative thing to say about it. *Note: In the time since our original review, Google has updated Nalata Nalata's information to accurately reflect that they are indeed a 'Home Goods Store', and not an 'Art Gallery' as previously listed.
