Lovely courtyard. Casual and sophisticated at the same time. Much quieter area than the French Quarter. Great food for sharing. I'll return next time in town.

We showed-up on a Friday night without a reservation and were able to get a nice table on the patio. We were immediately struck by the beautiful oasis atmosphere. The host was an affable guy who made us feel welcome and made quick work of clearing some space for us to dine. We ordered drinks at the bar and took them to our table - the cocktails were really good, and they had some great choices for wine and spirits. Though they had real Bermudan ginger beer, they didn’t have the accompanying Bermudan rum to make a “dark and stormy” - a moderate disappointment given the robust drinking culture in NOLA. The bar tender was not overly friendly - as a first point of contact that matters to me. Our server wasn’t overly friendly either and seemed to care little about our experience - not even putting in the standard fake last effort at the end to bump up her tip. I could have almost appreciated the honesty if our meal hadn’t been ruined due to the incompetence of the kitchen. Though the salad, and mushroom plates were good, and were delivered with good timing, we had to send back our main - the steak with mashed potatoes - twice because it was stone cold. And we did have quite a wait to get it in the first place. The timing must have been off in the kitchen. The second attempt was actually worse than the first, and its plating was indicative of a kitchen not happy about having two steaks sent back. What can I say though? Serve your food at the proper temperature and people will probably eat it? Anyway, it was at this point that we must have ‘jumped the shark’ with the server because she admitted that the restaurant was really busy, and then like a self-fulfilling prophecy increased our second class treatment. In the end, we ordered the canned smoked oysters with extra bread (hey - if you expected a steak with mashed potatoes and ended up having to eat canned oysters, you’d have ordered extra bread too) and didn’t get the bread. So I don’t know what to say. Maybe don’t go here without a reservation? I don’t think that should matter though. If they can seat you, they can feed you. If all you care about is going somewhere cool, hip, or trendy then do it. If you care about the quality of your food... my advice would be to find another place.

Very laid back French countryside ambience. Food was nicely balanced with good flavors. The can to table was definitely the favorite. The bread was perfection with a great crunchy crust and good chew interior. Went really well with the lemon butter and the mackerel pate we had. Will definitely come back for more of the canned options.

Really cute place, great ambiance. A little slow for seating and service but with a nice glass of wine it didn't really matter. The food was pretty spectacular.

N7 is a lovely little restaurant hidden behind a high fence. The patio feels warm and comfortable. The waitress was great. We shared 5 plates and, though all were creative, none really stood out. Maybe we didnt get the right thing. We'll definitely try again though!
