  Easter brunch at Mrs. K’s is quite busy. However we were seated promptly. The brunch buffet is a combination of breakfast staples - eggs Benedict, scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, omelet, waffles, etc and hearty lunch dishes - Mac and cheese, ribs, chicken wings, oysters, shrimp, etc.

  Went here for a birthday dinner. The food was good but the service was very slow. Beautiful house, very cozy. I have been here for brunch several times and it has always been good, lots of variety.

  Well Being from Chicago,IL and as a suggestion from my family who live in Maryland I give it 4 stars. We had a surprise birthday for my sister of 50 years and for me I think it was great but not the best. I had the "Jumbo Lump Crab Cake" for a 1st entree or appetizer which was delicious and for the main entree I had a duck dish with a Cajun Gumbo inspiration which is currently on their menu since this past March 10. Unfortunately my other family members or relatives did not like their 16 oz steak but I did have a taste of it and I thought it was "Yummy" delicious. Reason 4 stars is because the main entrees took them long to deliver and we ate late for the birthday dinner. I would try this place when I come back to Maryland DC area again but hopefully I won't wait too long. Also other reason was contacting staff for parking and they put me on hold over phone for more than 10 minutes to get a simple answer especially since I am not from Maryland DC.

  I've have dined at Mrs. K's many times since 1974. I got married and had my reception there in 2005. The meals have always been excellent and the service always exceptional. The relaxed atmosphere enhances the dining experience. I highly recommend this restaurant!

  Really I want to give them a 3.75 out of 5 but you know that works. Sunday brunch - First if you are trying to go Sunday for brunch its best to go on over to Open Table and create a reservation. Easier that way. The church crowd is wild on Sundays obviously. Service - Great service. The greeter was very nice and told us we would only have to wait a few minutes to be seated. Once seated they basically told us we can go ahead and stuff our faces. Food - They don't have a ton of food. So if you are thinking large "buffet" then you may be disappointed. However the food was good. Basic waffles, grits, bacon, oysters, chicken, desserts (lemon bars, cake) etc. Their cocktails were pretty good. I had a strawberry mimosa which was pretty good. Overall I think the food choices could of been better. Better meaning more, but it was still good stuff. Ambience - It was a pretty cool place to eat. The restaurant is literally an old 1920s Toll House. Pretty intimate, but not to the point to where you can't dress casual. I'll go back, but nothing to scream over.
