  My fav secret place to visit...and I do with family and pets often. If you circumnavigate the entire park, it’s a 2-mile up and down trek. There’s access to a beach strewn with granite remnants of the old school once on the grounds, and populated with seals, a small family of bald eagles, all sorts of birds, sea glass bits here and there. One local bus from the SI Ferry (takes about an hour to get there) provides local access, and a small parking lot provides free spaces.

  Great place to walk the dog and look out over the water. My one problem was getting there but if you are familiar with Staten Island it should not be a problem. A nice uncrowded oasis to which I hope to return...

  I have always loved this part of Staten Island. Mount Loretto is a beautiful place with a LOT of history.
