  It was the most refreshingly atypical salon experience I've ever had! First, Misin himself cut my hair. Now, a hair cut by Misin Shin is not the usual sit-and-wait experience. Misin looked over my hair long before sitting me down for the meditation-like experience; he played with my hair and looked over my hair follicles in the manner that an architect evaluates a foundation. When the hair cutting began, it was wonderful to see Misin move about me and cut my hair in smooth motions. Just watching Misin work with my hair (while I was sometimes standing) was hypnotic. It is a rare delight to meet a master artist who is experiencing their true energy flow while they create. Needless to say, my hair looked revitalized and completely reinvented. Observing this art in motion (and seeing the results) made me feel peaceful and eager to complete the new look with a new hair color. Christian had been recommended to me by a friend (for both the cut and color I had made appointments in advance), so I was introduced and seated at Christian's station. Christian is an incredible colorist. He waited patiently while I explained that my hair detests all attempts to color it and that it would be an extra effort to get anything to stick. Of course, I wanted the most fugitive hair color you could choose, red. Christian was undaunted by my resistant hair, looked at my complexion and said: "copper reds, no purple undertones". I agreed, and he mixed up the color with the confidence of a master colorist (which he is). The results, combined with Misin's genius haircut, were phenomenal. Even though it's now been nearly a month since I went into Misin Shin Salon, my hair still looks amazing and gets compliments! Of course the red has toned down a little, but it still looks amazing and natural. My hair has grown out a bit, but it has maintained the perfect shape that Misin created. I will definitely be going back soon.
