  While staying at the Marriott Downtown in Milwaukee, you may find yourself wanting an appetizer or burger along with drinks. Milliken is a great unique restaurant and bar adjoining the hotel. Nice option for me when I stay here! Their burger selection includes some really great options which are out of the ordinary and really hearty. You’ll need several napkins when you work these down, chase each bite down with a frosty drink!

  An upscale eatery on the east side of downtown. Tries to emphasize it's use of meats. The chili as an appetizer was smoky with heat from habanero peppers. It complemented well with a Spotted Cow beer from New Glarus brewery. Dinner was a beef short rib with sweet potato puree and an apple slaw. The beef was buttery smooth and easily taken apart to eat. The sweet potatoes provided a slightly sweet counterpoint and the apple slaw gave a light bitterness that brought it all together. This restaurant is not that close to Old World Third Street, but it's about a 5-7 minute walk from the old Grand Street mall. There are worse trips you could make in search of an upscale experience that won't break the bank. I'd eat here again if I was in the neighborhood and was in the mood for a nice place to eat.

  I don’t know if it was an off night or they were short staffed, but this restaurant needs a little work. It kind of seemed like someone came in and planned the whole concept out but didn’t hire a staff that could execute on it. Went there with a large group for dinner. The food wasn’t great. I might try for a brunch or an easier meal. I would recommend the burger. That seemed to be ok.

  Worst dining experience of my life and I’m not exaggerating. We walked into the restaurant and waited for at least 10 minutes before seeing a single server on the floor — had to actively search for employees in order to be seated for our reservation. Waiters were not discrete in displaying their irritation when we asked to move tables — in fact two complained to us directly — despite the fact there were fewer than 5 other parties dining at the time. Other tables throughout the restaurant had not been cleared and it looked as if food had been sitting out for a while. Very unhelpful staff, service was ridiculously slow. We waited an hour for our food and when it arrived it was barely lukewarm. My dish was served in a cast iron skillet that was completely cold to the touch. No one asked how our food was even though the manager was on the floor the entire time — don’t know how she got that job when she clearly has no standards for operating a restaurant! I would say they were having an off day, but “off” relative to what I’m not sure. One star is generous — you would have to literally pay me twice the cost of my meal to return.
