  I went in to make a large withdrawal so I quietly asked the teller for the amount but he was very indiscreet and there is no security here. It’s Oakland CA I wouldn’t take a chance here again.

  These people work as hard as it is humanly possible to work to ensure that they work as infrequently as possible. This is the most inconvenient bank that exists on the planet. This bank is NEVER open. NEVER. They close if one of them has a hangnail. And when I am, finally, able to get into this bank that doesn't want to have to do customer service, they ask me why don't I open an account. Open an account at a bank that's closed more often than it's open, like I'm going to pay them to not be there when they should be. This bank could not possibly be any worse. If I weren't forced to bank with them by my employer I would never even consider using it as a urinal. This bank if horrible. This bank is a ripoff in every single possible way. If you bank with this bank you will neve, under any circumstances, be happy with your choice of banks, because you can't do any banking here during business hours, after business hours or during any other hours. This bank is absolutely positively the least convenient, most expensive option with the absolute worst customer service imaginable, none. Customer service is not available at mechanics bank. They just don't do it. They treat paying customers as if they were garbage. As if spending your hard earned money on their horrifying service we're somehow a privilege. WORST BANK ON THE PLANET! AVOID IF YOU EVER WANT TO SEE YOUR OWN MONEY AGAIN!

  Terrible customer service. several times I've had incorrect information from 2 different individuals. also this one lady I think her name is sharma has the biggest attitude anytime I walk in. and honestly looks like she just walking around avoiding customers. I can not respect the work ethic here. I rather hide money under my bed than to bank with them it's not worth the potential trouble due to lack of concideration for the customer, as well as inaccurate information to provide customers. P.S this unpleasant experience is only at the Harrison Branch. I've had no troubles at other branches.

  DO NOT USE!! Mechanics Bank keeps calling my personal cell for a person that is not me. I blocked their first phone number and today they called again. If you value your friends and family DO NOT MAKE BUSINESS WITH THESE PEOPLE! EDIT: Guess who has called and left a voice mail again? You guessed it, FOR THE LOVE OF GOD STOP CALLING ME. I have never done business with you!

  Feels like the only place in Oakland to get foreign currency. Fortunately they do it well and only charge a flat $3 rate. Much better than all banks.
