::They are super friendly, but fall short on clarity of expectations and planning. Also, their response time and communication is something to be desired. Additionally, for me, the costs doubled what they originally told me it would cost. I hired them to manage a Medicaid application for my dad, while eventually he was approved, it was a nightmare and extremely stressful in the process. Upon acceptance, the firm informed me his application would be up for renewal in May. I just received notification from them that the application is up for renewal 14 days from the date of the letter, which was dated 2/11. The firm notified me on 2/15. Within minutes I immediately asked the cost to file the application for me. Two days later I finally received a response stating they would not assist in the matter. This is just one example of the firm's failure to effectively communicate in a timely manner, especially when it pertains to critical timelines and deadlines. Additionally, the sister company, Elder Advisory Group, is a company I highly suggest avoiding at all costs. I was trying to manage my dad from over 1,600 miles away and hired the company to assist. At the end of the process, I ended up doing all of the research on placing my dad. They failed to let me know the place my dad was placed, Grace Care of Katy, was in fact not a fully qualified memory care facility. This allowed my dad to escape multiple times. I was informed by Grace Care of Katy on a Thursday evening, that I needed hire someone to supervise my dad at their facility - and needed to do this by the weekend. Of course, they neglected to call me the other times he was able to exit the facility. Needless to say, overall my experience with Weiner & McCulloch and Elder Advisory Group leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

::As both a CPA and and an Attorney, Tom McColloch's approach to his law practice is both thoughtful and dynamic. He genuinely cares about his clients and that's reflected in the energy he invests in his complimentary educational workshops for the community. In addition, Tom has built an excellent team of intelligent and hard working professionals who help make every client of his feel like they're his only client. As a healthcare professional, I've had the chance to refer clients to Weiner & McCulloch, all of whom have went out of their way to call me since and explain how much Tom has helped them. The firm also has an excellent resource in Janet Jackson-McCulloch, the firm's Geriatric Care Manager, ensuring they're uniquely helpful to older adults and their families as they navigate the complexities of long term care.
