It's lived somewhat up to it's expectations. The fries are amazing. The gentleman that took the order was very nice and fast but I was a bit surprised when he took the credit card away from me for transactions.

I just called less than a minute ago and this guy with a Mexican accent was so ride when all I was doing is asking a simple question in regards to halal items since the menu doesn't give much detail online. I called again and he hung up. The food may be good but the service is crappy. Not ever going there.

I have always wanted to try a Chicago dog & it was SO worth having here at Max's. The fries are great too! It's close to the Art Institute which makes it perfect to have after seeing the exhibits. Service is great!

First time around in Chicago, had to try a Chicago style dog. The variety of pickled and fresh veggies give the dog a gourmet feel that I enjoy quite a lot. It's sweet, spicy, sour, and salty all in one bite. I might even have to give it the edge over Papaya Dog, which is hard to say for a New Yorker. Space is small and might be cramped but line moves fast and food is delicious.

Tiny spot in the loop with zero tables and some raised counters for eating. One of those classic hole-in-the-wall Chicago lunch spots with all the regular fast food choices, from hot dogs to burgers and chili. The hot dogs were good, very standard Chicago-style affairs. The fries were crispy, not soggy, and went well dipped in the chili. Staff were in a hurry (to be expected during lunch) but had a system down. Courteous and competent.
