Service is very uneven. They'll make promises on available tires and times then freely blame their warehouse delivery system likes it's okay.

I went in to get a new tire and then they come back with thousands of dollars in fixed I need to my car. I didn’t ask check anything else and they say I need new filters, flushing my system, tire realignment. Just be honest and stop trying to prey on people’s ineptness. I could have been a long term customer, but now I’m never coming back.

Caution; Mavis Discount Tires in Great Neck is very shady and takes advantage of women! I went in there for a NYS inspection and was advised I would not pass unless they flushed my power steering fluid however this is not something that is even a part of the NYS inspection requirements. They had the nerve to charge me $129.00 to do something that honestly took less than 5 minutes to complete. I could have done this on my own or I’d rather pay that money to an honest mechanic.

Very friendly and fast and helpful. Free digital air pump. They fixed nail hole on my tire with very little money!

Call before you go to get the best pricing and get the name of who you spoke with. Go there without a phone estimate and you will ALWAYS pay more! Then expect a lengthy wait to get your tires because they are always busy. Lastly beware of the guy whose job it is to pump up the bill. He'll be really friendly and tell you how your perfectly good brake pads are "almost" worn out and how if you change them now you'll be doing your car a favor. Then he'll offer you a brake fluid flush which would be good if they actually flush it out properly. I've watched them do nothing more than suck out the fluid from the reservoir, put in some new fluid and call that a flush. Firstly to flush a modern vehicle you need to have specialized manufacturer specific electronic equipment (OEM computer) to operate the ABS valves and secondly you have to flush each wheel at the brake caliper until fresh fluid is present. That would be worth the $79.95 they charge. What they do isn't worth a dime!
