This place is super tight! Free tickets that you can schedule in advance through their website. The projector exhibit that's up through August is SICK! You can bring any type of camera (including detachable lenses). Plus, they have a whole Masonic archive that I was not aware of when I reserved my ticket! Total gem. Will be returning.

It's great to visit a gallery this gallery and enjoy the curators choices that are daring and challenging me. Free admission, private parking, helpful staff.

Stopped by to see the Olafur Eliasson installation. WOW. The longer I stayed to experience it, the more it blew my mind. I was already familiar with the artist but this was very different to what I’d seen before. The Art Center is kind of ridiculous. It’s in the old Masonic Temple and it’s so big (and gorgeous) that it’s hard to imagine what works they can effectively display. Yet during my visit the site was used to astonishing effect.

Well, at least the building was spared from being torn down. The auditorium has been stripped to the girders. The current show is fairly boring for such a huge space. Hopefully the next one will be more interesting. The installation on the top floor features mostly large modern canvases - they like big art! Too bad the mosaic tile on the East wall is hidden behind be a (temporary) wall. Remove the wall it's the highlight of the original building. The balcony on the north side may have been my favorite part of the day.
