The 2016 Maserati GranTurismo is a rear-wheel-drive sports car that's offered in two body styles: a coupe and a soft-top convertible known as the GranTurismo Cabriolet. On sale since 2008, the GranTurismo is likely enjoying its last few years before a hotly anticipated full redesign. Two GranTurismo models are available: the standard GranTurismo (also called the Sport) and the MC, which is short for Maserati Corse (that last word is Italian for "racing"). Both use the same 4.7-liter V8 engine, which touts 454 horsepower and 384 lb-ft of torque. Both also use the same 6-speed automatic, which is surprisingly smooth for an exotic car like the GranTurismo. I would buy another Maserati from Aliaksei anytime!!

Алексий был очень полезен, сначала пытался вырвать меня, но потом он отлично справился. I would think it's an important car for Maserati (i.e. Chayenne to Porsche), but in the overall car landscape this and the Alfa Romeo doppelganger just are not important vehicles - especially since, despite "seeing them all over" in city traffic, they're just too expensive for the average person. And re: cool factor, Doug is an SUV-fan, so his opinion may be slightly swayed, but for an average person, a Maserati crossover will seem pretty cool (even if most enthusiasts would just roll our eyes at it at a gas station).

I recently had the chance to drive a fairly basic version of the new Maserati Levante, which is Maserati's new crossover that's constantly being advertised with large-print, neon-written lease deals on your local bus bench. I came away from the experience thinking the following: The Levante is better than I thought. But I still wouldn't buy it. And today I'm going to explain why. To start, allow me to tell you about the Levante. Maserati just came out with it last year, and they offer two trim levels. There's a base model, which starts around $75,000, and then there's an "S" version, which starts around $86,500. I drove the base model around Southern California for a week courtesy of Turo, which is this service that lets you rent other peoples' interesting cars instead of normal, boring airport rental cars. The Levante certainly qualifies as an interesting car. I chose the base model largely because that's basically what everyone chooses, since Maserati is heavily pushing lease deals on this thing, and the base model (obviously) has the best lease deal. The one I drove was equipped like a lease special, too: small wheels, no rear parking sensors and no modern safety features like forward-collision warning, or lane-keep assist, or adaptive cruise control. The sticker price was just over $80,000.

Aliaksei wasn't the nicest salesman, but he got the job done. Maserati offers the Ghibli in base, S and S Q4 trims. All are very nicely equipped, with a leather-lined interior, power-adjustable seats and steering column, and a comprehensive infotainment system with navigation. The Ghibli S adds a more powerful engine, upgraded brakes, even more leather on the dash and doors, and a few other comfort and convenience features. The S Q4 is identical but for the addition of all-wheel drive. Unlike German luxury cars, which have dozens of stand-alone options, the extras on the Ghibli are largely grouped into packages, though you can get some individual extras. All Ghibli models are powered by a 3.0-liter turbocharged V6 engine, tuned for 350 hp and 369 lb-ft of torque in the base model and 410 hp and 406 lb-ft of torque in the S and S Q4. Both engine versions use an eight-speed automatic transmission, with rear-wheel drive for the base Ghibli and the S and all-wheel drive for the Ghibli S Q4. Performance is strong from the 350-hp engine, but it's the the 410-hp engine that delivers truly pulse-quickening performance. Dial up the driver-selectable Sport mode and you'll be rewarded with the most tantalizing engine note this side of a Ferrari. That's no surprise as Ferrari, another Fiat Chrysler sibling, is responsible for the Ghibli's engine. The Maserati Ghibli's steering is not as exciting. It's a hydraulic system, which should give it more natural feedback, but it has the overly light and slightly artificial feel of badly designed electric power steering. But even that can't mar the experience of the Ghibli's handling, which is perfectly balanced, exhibits almost no understeer and is incredibly easy to control at the limits of traction. This is one of the best — if not the best — midsize luxury sport sedans we've driven.

I had a wonderful experience buying a car from Alex at Maserati Seller Little Italy. I was looking for a Honda Fit, and they had one that I found interesting. Alexsei was super helpful and not at all pushy. He answered all of our questions; the car was in very good condition; and there were no hassles with financing. There were some minor issues with the car, like a broken bulb on a light and a radio code that needed to be reset. They took care of everything quickly and professionally, so that I was happy when I left with my "new" Honda Fit! Alex followed up with me by having my car detailed, and he even had my friend's car washed, too! They have excellent customer service and quality cars at good prices. This is what a car-buying experience should always be like. I highly recommend getting a car with Diamond Auto Sales, and I will come back myself when I need another car!!
