  First and last dive in San Diego. Before getting into the negatives, I do have to say that the captain and her assistant were exceptionally kind. The boat is comfortable with plenty of shade from the son. However, this didn't make up for a very unpleasant dive trip. I have never felt so unsafe during a dive. When we arrived to the boat, they didn't have all the rental gear for everyone. The assistant was making calls to the captain trying to get all the equipment. We waited for an hour before the captain casually showed up with the gear and a Starbucks in hand. We finally got underway into very choppy waters. When gearing up, three out of the five divers found they were missing equipment (fins and hoods) from their rental gear. Fortunately, they did have extras stored on the boat. At this point, we found out that we would be diving alone without a guide. Granted, I can't blame this completely on them as it is not listed anywhere on their website that it would be guided. However, they took us to a location, gave a two minute diving brief, and said jump in, we will be here when you get back. The crew recognized the water was so rough their brief included instruction to not hold onto the anchor line as it has been known to dislocate divers shoulders. With the water being so choppy, we only had a few feet of visibility until about 30 feet down and then had a max of 10ft visibility. There were other boats driving around the area, and they didn't provided a safety sausage to deploy prior to surfacing. The visibility was so poor it was near impossible to relocate the boat prior to resurfacing. We chose not to do the second dive and forfeited our money because we didn't feel like it was safe to do so. I don't feel like this dive company provides a safe or enjoyable dive experience. I definitely would not recommend them to anyone.

  I thought they were crazy to offer 6 dives in a day and that it would never fit, but even though we left a bit late, it did work out :) The staff was went out of their way to make sure everyone was enjoying their day, in my case they got me 2 more wetsuits and upgraded me from a single 7mm to a 3mm plus 7mm since I was just too cold, and that did work. They also found me someone to dive with and show me around the Yukon, which was helpful since it's so big, and they offer nitrox on the boat. What else can you ask for? Their price was even quite reasonable for the value offered. A+++ would dive again :)

  I went diving on Easter and I think the crew is awesome. Really attentive to safety and make you feel like your at home. They find the best dive spots and give a really good description of what you should expect down below and the highlights to look for. They answered all my questions and kept me entertained. Would love to dive on the Marissa anytime I get a chance!
