Absolutely not what you would expect from a bed and breakfast. We get there and take our suitcases up about 25 stairs we were given a tour of the so-called mansion then let out the back door down about 25 more stairs with our luggage and take him to a room outside underneath the mansion. The decor in the room looks like they have gone to a thrift store and piece together random pictures and pieces of furniture very very cheap furniture.. we have no control of the Heat or air if we get hot or cold we have to go upstairs unlock the door with a key and hope that someone is in the office who can adjust it. The room smells of raw sewage the toilet is covered with old piss and hair... Not really the Mansion feel we were expecting... Save your money and find a good hotel!! The baseboards are filthy... You are not allowed to park on the premises you are however allowed to park anywhere you can find on the street and that could be as far as 2 miles away did I mention there is no street parking allowed... But we were told it would be fine don't worry about the signs that say no parking..

We stayed at the Magnolia Mansion after our cruise when we had a few days to stay in New Orleans. The staff was very friendly and even upgraded our room. They provided a continental breakfast which was sufficient and allowed us to park in the loading/unloading zone since it wasn't very busy. The only kicker was that there was no hot water and no housekeeping, at least not while we were there. Housekeeping isn't a big deal but hot water is typically expected in any sort of lodgings. I'm not sure if their heater was out of service during that time.

Great location and a cool little hotel in a gorgeous old building. Staff was extremely friendly and provided everything we asked for. The themed rooms are quirky and fun if that's what you're into, but be aware the amenities vary by room, ie you might only have a bathtub or only have a shower, etc. Breakfast was simple but enjoyable. Overall I'd say it's not a luxury experience but the house is beautiful and yours to enjoy while you are guests. Definitely a great New Orleans experience.

Where to begin? This place is beautiful, however parking is not provided so if your lucky, you'll be able to park right in front or on the side of the mansion on the street. They have a courtyard which would be perfect for parking but they don't allow you to do so even though the only thing in the courtyard is a water fountain that is close to the mansion. Our room description said we would have an iron, ironing board, hair dryer, and robes to help make our stay more comfortable. There were no robes, no hair dryer, no robes, and yes there was an iron but no ironing board which kind of defeats the purpose of the iron when there really isn't a place to to iron...the continental breakfast was alright. From people who supposedly get their breakfast items and coffee from a local bakery the food was alright at best. Needless go say, while the price is right ( or at least is was for me) I just don't feel like the mansion lived up to the hype on the website.

We had the pleasure of hosting a memorial service for our mom here recently, and our experience was terrific. The hotel owner and staff worked with us diligently on every detail, ensuring that the experience for our guests was amazing. The staff set-up the main living room, and two dining rooms to be used for our event. All audio and video was taken care of, and plenty of luxurious seating was arranged for our guests. The staff provided a large buffet of food and drink service, the room in which we held the services was exquisitely decorated and pictures and items from our mom’s life were beautifully arranged throughout. A few of us took a tour of the Hotel and some of its rooms. The rooms are decorated with charm, culture and beauty of old New Orleans. The high ceilings, furniture and decor were just what you would expect from a historical hotel such as this. Our experience was excellent and our mother was honored. Mom had a Bed & Breakfast of her own before she retired. She would have loved this place! Beautiful place, awesome location, great staff and wonderful people!
