Our 6 yo daughter cut her own hair and gave herself bangs across about 1/4 of her hairline above her right eye. We hid the error by strategically combing over it and using a hair clip with the remaining long hair: it was unnoticeable. When we took her to Lulus for her cut, we all (parents, stylist and management) discussed what to do: completely cut for full bangs, or leave it as is and continue to hide error. We (the parents) decided to not cut the bangs further and this was clearly stated. The stylist then ignored us and cut uneven 1 inch long bangs fully across the forehead nevertheless, which look bad, and cannot be hidden. When we complained to the management, they were also initially surprised, but then didnā€™t even apologize for the bad job: and charged us full price. Incompetent stylists and bad management are the worst possible mix. Take your kids elsewhere.

EXTREMELY RUDE STYLIST! Second encounter of an extremely rude employee. Had an appointment for a child haircut-I showed up 10 minutes early and husband was getting our child from daycare, making his way in a car down 5th Ave. went in and told the woman behind the counter that heā€™d be about 5-10 behind but was on the way. When I came in with my child (10 min on the dot, behind schedule) and thanked the stylist and apologized at the same time, she rolled her eyes and pointed her finger to the clock overhead and patronizingly said ā€œwe have a 10 minute policy. I donā€™t know if anyone told you about it, but we donā€™t hold your appointment past 10 minutesā€. (Mind you, last appointment for the day and they were still open for another 35 minutes)When I began to tell her I had spoken to the lady at the counter, she rolled her eyes again and said ā€œfineā€ with a huge scowl on her face, and directed my child to the ā€œchairā€. I told her I would not be needing her services. First of all, youā€™re in customer services. Second of all, you work with CHILDREN. You must be out of your mind if you think Iā€™m going to let a p*ssed off employee near my childā€™s head with scissors. Sorry Luluā€™sā€”been coming (and recommending) since 2013, but will no longer be a customer. You may want to reevaluate the temperament of those you employ to cut childrenā€™s hair with sharp objects.

Awesome. This is good place for people who are really into anime/cartoons/comics as well as people who aren't. The pricing is alright and there are some really nifty finds (original pocket monster stickers for 99 cents a pack!!) I will definition be coming back.

Never again. Rough attitudes from the stylists towards the kids. One was a complete bully to her tiny customer, ordering the parents to hide from the little girl in an effort to get her to stop screaming... How that mentality works, I have no idea. It was like prison guards cutting convicts' hair. The one stylist in particular was mean from the start. I had to try to be sweet to the little girl myself. She was terrified. Staff is either unequipped or too overworked to deal with children patiently and effectively. My 2 year old was saying "it hurts" and our stylist responded, "it doesn't hurt." She was combing his hair so aggressively. I have a picture of the back of his neck all scraped up from her clippers almost 12 hours later, so yes- it most likely did hurt, lady. Why we tolerate someone so rude and rough with our kids, when anyone of us would never tolerate a stylist treating us, adults the same way, I don't understand.
