Nice market clean. Would give a five but they have no bread and the butcher is heavy handed on the scale.

My first visit was impressive. The first thing I noticed was how very clean it is. The meat selection looked great. I will be back for that. The produce section was perfect. Again so very clean. I bought some produce and tamales today. All was good. I’ll be back and will become a regular customer I’m sure. Everyone was polite too.

Beware how they weigh your meats. It will be too far over your asking for. And at their high prices I was feeling like I was being played. I don't ever mind if it's slight above what I ask for first off. I asked for 1.0 lb carne asada and the girl threw on 1.55 lbs.. at $14.99 it's way over what I asked for at nearly $23. The next was the al pastor, she went even higher over 1.0 lb with 1.66lb. This time I had to speak up.. and she dropped it to 1.22lbs. I left with $8 more of meats and with out me saying something I would have been 1.1lb over what I needing of just 2lbs total.. So don't be afraid to tell them to take some out. They are higher priced than most places. I had to run to another grocery store and the asada was $9.19 a pound. Dang... Their Red Salsa is way too runny. The flavor of the carne asada was good.. the al pastor I would pass on. It was dark looking too so I knew when I asked for 1 lb and she yanked out 1.66lbs of ALL the old pieces I knew what she was up to. So just be aware. I want to support them as a local resident but I might think twice unfortunately.

What a great little market. I came here to get some carne asada that was really good. They also has limes and sour cream saving me a trip to the store.

I highly recommend Luis Meat Market. Very clean place. Fresh fruits and vegetables. My husband and daughter love the breaded chicken and beef, the salsas prepared on site. I have been shopping with them since 2009-10. I live in Ladera Ranch now, but whenever visiting family in Lakewood, I make sure to shop at the Luis Meat Market!
