A very good place to learn, I mean really learning something. You have to do a lot of work though. Self teaching is also part of learning, too.

Some teachers can be incomprehensible. You can be on your own. Read the textbook like it's the Bible. Hunt the web for goldmines - I meant good websites. Ask questions in class or be a Bsian. Just carpet bomb the teacher with questions. They like it. Non-AP classes, chances are it'll be like a cheap tour with a blind tour guide and a group of people who are high - no one really knows what's happening, and no one really cares. Maybe not, you say, but come back in two years, and I'll bet you one grand you remember nothing from all those late nights you spent on world history homework. If you're in any class, AP or not, with no defined textbook or curriculum, run out screaming like it's ebola. You know what's the difference between you and the African slaves in those ships two hundred years ago? Nothing, because neither of you have textbooks. The more time you waste, the less valuable you are, the more easily oppressed you are. AP classes (with textbooks) are the religion. Who's the best students? The ones who had 7 APs and look like they need CPR any moment. Take your APs. Chances are, these gods will be your friends. At the very least, according to natural selection, these are the best dates you could possibly find. Lowell's strongest point, supposedly, is a great student body. Well, there's probably bad Lowell students, they just don't control your fates like bad teachers. Speaking of which, a few teachers do not teach but they will grade harshly. Ahem photograph and architecture ahem. And some Chinese 1 and French 1 teachers ahem (don't like us calling you out? Get your **** together and stop pushing the blame onto others who criticize you). No one ever actually conducted an experiment *with a control group* about how amazing Lowell students are, since everyone goes to either one school or another. Are Lowell students actually amazing, or is it just the placebo effect? Either way, this is the high school to be if you want prestige, though the moment you stay through the door you should be working towards Harvard, Stanford, or an Ivy League because staying still is cancer. Still. All in all, a fun place. Clubs are amazing, definitely recommend. Might learn more about English or Math in debate/Forensics and mathletes/math club than you learn in six years of school. No bullying, no druggies (except the freshmen... *sigh*). Definitely the place to be for introverts for the peace and extroverts for the partners. That's all the big giant red bulging warning signs I can give. Good luck. Or go to Lincoln. -Senior Lowell student p.s. Yes I said Bsian. Yes, I didn't mention black or white people. Yes, y'all too damn loud already.
