The Lorraine Motel is a must see for everyone. Obviously it's the hotel where the great Dr. Martin Luther King was killed, but attached to it, is the Smithsonian's Civil Right Museum. There is so much to see inside, you could spend all day in there! This is the #1 thing to do in Memphis, if you're passing though and have limited time.

We drove from Atlanta to visit and it was definitely worth the trip. We spent about 4 or 5 hours here. It was such an emotional experience of course but I learned plenty of new facts. You can tell a lot of thought and time went into putting this museum together.

Always a great experience to visit places of significant historical, social, cultural and political significance. Dr. Martin Luther king Jr. is and was an icon. To visit this place brought back many memories both good and bad. A must visit for all Americans.

This museum was a amazing place to go to learn and experience about black history and the civil rights movement...and seeing Dr. Martin Luther King's motel room up close and personal was so touching, and gave me a feeling that I can't explain. I advise anyone that live in or plans on visiting Memphis, Tennessee to take that trip to the museum at the Lorraine!!! As a 32 yrs old proud black woman I wholeheartedly give a 5 star rating.
